The only problem is that I was afraid I could not find it again next time I need it (Just copy it somewhere safe and leave a copy in your downloads folder)

Simple and straightforward.
I had a 8GB USB drive that had been partitioned to only 2GB for a Dell diagnostic boot drive, and I needed to restore it back to its full capacity. Tried other "free" software first and was disappointed with that, but this did the job wonderfully.

1.)Downloads and installs easily without installing a bunch of crapware on your pc.
2.)Fixed a brand new Sandisk Cruzer flash drive that never did work from day one and couldn't be formatted by Windows.

Summary
I had bought a brand new 8GB Sandisk Cruzer and it never did work nor could it be formatted using the Wins format tool so I figured I'd give this HP formatting tool a try and it worked! From start to finish (downloading the tool being the start) it probably took about 5 minutes and totally fixed my flash drive, awesome tool!!

I use a program to create multi-boot USB-bootable images of various Linux distros. When I tried using that tool to reformat a secure USB stick, it wouldn't work. So, I tried the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool, and it make short work of the job.

Worked for a cheap, chinese disk

didn't worked for my Kingston Data traveler, which broke whilst I was trying to copy a database file on it.
Summary
I pulled the plug off of an XP computer w/ a usb disk in it and the stick became unreadable from Win8.1. Tried to format the usb disk using Windows, didn't worked. W/ this tool I formatted it succesfully and now the disk is fully functional :)

Pros
Tried a lot of methods converting my usb disk from fat32 to ntfs but this software worked perfectly for my transcend jetflash 8gb (TS8GJFV10), which was very hard to format using windows 7 professional "buit-in" formatting tool.
Cons
Had no problems or errors encountered.

-fast and easy to format to FAT32 for PS3
-no frills or fuss
-quick install and access
--> remember to right click and Run as Admin to get it started
Cons
-None, as long as it is Run as Admin, otherwise nothing happens.
