Grammarian PRO X is an arsenal of professional writing tools to combat those embarrassing writing errors that everyone tends to make, a universal interactive grammar checking, spelling checking, dictionary, thesaurus, autocorrect, and autotype tool which works with virtually every program on your computer even if a program does or doesn't have these features. Grammarian PRO X works interactively or in batch correction mode and automatically starts working in your applications to correct spelling, grammar, phrase usage, and punctuation. Use the built-in dictionary/thesaurus assistant to look up definitions and verify the correct choice of words. AutoCorrection corrects many spelling mistakes automatically as you type. Also, create AutoType shorthand macros which will automatically type your commonly used signature phrases.

A big improvement on the earlier versions. I have used it for years and IMHO this is the best version yet. I use it a lot for checking ease of understanding for talks to children and adults - and it never lets me down.

I like this program most for the fact it slows me down and causes me to reflect more on my writing as I correct my lousy grammar.

Not much at this point. The ProX version worked most of the time in 32 bit mode and when it didn't crash made good suggestions and ease of use in ingteractive mode.
Cons
Giving wierd choices for suggestions and then frequently crashing, and I had to pay $25 for this poorly performing upgrade?

Don't try this until you are assured that it will work properly on your computer.

Shows incorrect punctuation and grammar errors quickly and gives explanation.
Cons
I think it's a Ram memory hog - program quit unexpectedly a few times it locked up. User interface is a bit confusing. Needs cleaning up. Often chose correct words but marked them as incorrect.
Summary
If it would improve on those areas I would purchase the product - do the demo first!

Grammarian is part of the startup on my computer 10.4.11 Used every day all the time. No problems, no slowdowns, no adverse issues other than occasionally a duplication of menu in some programmes, with no impact on functionality.
Highly recommended for people who are serious about the quality of their writing. Best Wishes to the developer who continues to support this valuable software. I would be more than happy to purchase the next version upgrade. I am also a licensed user of Spell Catcher but I find Grammarian to be far superior. -

First off, I could not get the 1.7 version to work. I demoed this software ONLY to check grammar when using Eudora Pro. Despite the manufacturerâ??s claims, 1.7 would not check grammar on Eudora Pro. I tried everything suggested.
They let me try a 2.0 beta version, which did work with Eudora Pro. The support was very responsive, even on the weekend.
Specific to my needs, the software is very flawed. It attempts to correct many â??problemsâ?? that require no correction and it missed many grammar problems. I would constantly have to monitor the results, which created as much work as it saved.
Its original manufacturer is abandoning Eudora Pro, so a grammar checker is likely never to come. This software would solve the problem, but it needs a lot of work.
Anyone who would give this software a â??5â?? rating is baffling to me. It is nowhere near a â??5â?? rating.
Do NOT pay for it until you have used it for a trial period.
