No pros since it won't work.
Cons
It won't even open the mpeg files I have(files that the older version did work with).
Summary
Maybe it will do something with other files, but it isn't working with the files that I want it for - files that the older version did work with.

It seems to get the audio right.
Cons
When a cut is done, the audio seems to work, but the video no longer matches it at all. The video has portions of what was supposed to be cut, but at an accelerated speed.
Summary
I will remove it. I liked the previous version, but this one isn't worth the space it takes on my computer.

Very easy to learn
Will cut any MPEG source without re-encoding (including H.264 based .mpg) and possibly HD video (I have not tried this personally, except for SD resolution)

It states that it will save the cut file directly, yet does not: you will receive a 12-24 KB fake file upon output after saving.
It currently is unlikely to store the CC data in the output file (Idk yet, I can't produce an output to begin with so far...).Summary
If developed more and things are fixed, this program will doubtlessly become an extraordinary and powerful tool for free. Simple and effective so far, and further versions may earn a 5 star ratings... esp. if the features remain untouched, but the bugs are fixed. Mostly good starting progress though.

- is not frame accurate. This is more likely a codec keyframe limitation than a software one, if you're not going to re-encode the stream. Can live with this for the price and the type of edits I'm going (top-tail of re-compressed TV shows).

Free Video Dub does exactly what it says. I have used it through several versions and found it extremely useful.
Cons
I just downloaded the newest version (2.0.2)which has a sleeker interface, but is VERY disappointing. The bracket indicating the place where you would like to cut is GONE!! So now you're guessing each time you are cutting.
Much worse is the new feature of jumping ahead by several frames. In this version here at cnet, you can still forward or rewind one frame at a time to cut out only the commercial. In the new version, you cannot be so precise anymore.Summary
Great program if you stick with this version. Do not upgrade until DVDVideoSoft has ironed out the kinks in the newer version.

Simple program. Just select the portion of the video you want delete and delete. It will save a copy of the video and add the word "cut" to the original file name.
Cons
I have not found any functional problems.
Summary
I have had about 14 short 1-4 minute videos of Christmas and New years fireworks. I was able to cut all the uneventful parts of the video and joined then together to make great fireworks display video that rocks. Awesome program!

Summary
I like it because it does exactly what I wanted. It shortens video that I have. I can cut out sections and it has a precision that I did not expect, but love. It is user friendly. I figured out how to use it without needing any directions.

Since I upgraded to Windows 7 (64 Bit), this program does wonders. You can take out commercials from any of your favorite programs, delete unwanted scenes, and more.
Cons
Doesn't work with Windows Media Center.
Summary
If you have Win TV installed on your machine, your programs can be edited with no problem.
