Summary
DOESN'T WORK
Kelcey JoOctober 16, 2015
Pros
There are none.
Cons
It didn't work. It wasn't clear how to re-download the files once they were converted, and when I converted them, the files were still .MOV. Useless.
Summary
Deleted all my files and did not convert them.
vanessahopeFebruary 8, 2015
Pros
No Pros. All cons.
Cons
Unfortunately I did not make a backup so my videos are gone. I never got it to work.
Summary
Be careful, make backups of your files before running this. Or just don't run it (better choice).
Bundled with garbage, and changed my search engine
ssJeffAugust 26, 2014
Pros
It did convert the videos
Cons
It tries to install 6 other things, does install at least one of them despite my best efforts at unchecking things in the custom installation, and changes my search engine to Bing, Bing! omg, Bing...
Summary
Not worth it
Bundled with crapware that can't be deselected. AVOID!
rch427August 17, 2014
Pros
Who knows? I downloaded it but killed the installation as soon as I noticed that it came bundled with crapware.
Cons
The Download.com downloader has its usual crapware that you have to carefully deselect (which, of course, I did) but even after that, after you've downloaded the "clean" app and you go to install it, the dialogue box notifies you that you're installing not just the Free MOV to WMV Converter, but also the "YouTube Accelerator Browser Application and Add-On" and that, by installing it, I will be entering into a "legally binding agreement" with "Goobzo Ltd." Goobzo's bundling with the two aforementioned apps results in the installation of FilesFrog Update Checker, the iWebar by iWebBar, Shopper-Pro, DAEMON Tools Lite and other delights. No bloody thanks!
Summary
Shame on Download.com for not only trying to deceive users into installing crapware through their downloader, but also allowing the software they host to sneak crapware like this into the installation process!
Didn't work
jenny.jammJuly 21, 2014
Pros
This program has no pros, because it didn't work.
Cons
It didn't work!
Summary
Download this program and when it didn't work I download the MOV to MP4 converter. Neither program worked. It converted the MOV file to an MOV file.
Does nothing it should and everything it shouldn't.
SigneduptowarnpeopleJune 9, 2014
Pros
It's free, interface and menu are really simple to use.
Cons
It's free because it's a converter that doesn't work (unless it's just I'm missing codecs). Converted several files and none of them played. Well they did, but the screen was full of random colours and no picture. It's also free because it's loaded to the teeth with about 6 different add-ons and (as picked up by Malwarebytes) 6 different adware threats. PUP.Optional.OutBrowse and PUP.Optional.Buzzit were the names of the files picked up. The file was added on June 3rd, and on June 6th an overly positive review was added stating that it scored heavily over other apps. I'm not saying anything, just use your own common sense.
Summary
Free mov-to-wmv converter that doesn't do the one thing it's marketed to (maybe just I'm missing codecs) but loads your computer with adware galore. Don't waste your time.
