It's easy enough to print a Web page by simply going to the File menu of your browser and selecting Print, but what you see on your screen is not always what you get on paper. Free HTML to PDF Converter solves this problem by converting Web pages to PDF or image files. It's a simple program, but one that has the potential to be tremendously useful.

The converter's interface is plain and intuitive. Users simply enter the URL of the Web page they want to convert and select whether they want to convert to a PDF with selectable text, a PDF with embedded images, or an image file. There are a variety of other settings that users can tinker with as desired, everything from embedding fonts and including live links to specifying the Web page size and adding PDF metadata. The program also lets users password protect the resulting PDF if desired, and users can choose whether they want the Web page converted as a single page or multiple pages. The program does have an online Help file, but it's definitely written with advanced users in mind. Fortunately, no advanced knowledge is required to take advantage of most of the program's features, which makes Free HTML to PDF Converter a great program for users of all levels.

The PDF looks exactly the same as the HTML. Works with HTML5 or any other HTML I have tried.

The program worked just fine. That was the nice thing. Then I immediately uninstalled!

As soon as I installed this program my computer and browser started going nuts. In the browser there were all sorts of re-directs, pages opening and pages closing beyond my control. My computer was suddenly bogged down and much slower than usual too. After I used the program I went into the control panel to add/remove programs and noticed that not just this program but about 7 others were installed too!!!! search bars, all sorts of other crap I didn't want. I cannot believe cNET is involved with this. The cNET I used to use and trust is obviously a changed entity. This will be the last thing I ever download from this site. Not to be trusted anymore!!!

This program is completely free, does not install anything like printer drivers and the HTML to PDF conversion is sensational. I can recommend it without any hesitation!

Avg went nuts when I installed this. There were three malware detections. I thought they may be false positives, but after the installation, my browser automatically opened a page to www.iminent.com, which is red flagged by W.O.T. as a malware distributor. Read the reviews there. They're horrible. I immediately uninstalled it. AVG took care of the infections.

It converted only 30 of 100 files. It didn't convert my html files, all it produced were blank pages. Crap.

Pros
Could not print large content web pages from IE9 or Dolphin HD no matter what I tried. Tried all the fixes suggested by Microsoft for IE9 and none of them solved the problem. In trying to find a solution I note that this problem is very common and there are lots of others searching for solutions. It really isn't satisfactory to have to use another piece of software to solve a problem that resides in IE9 but what a relief when having downloaded HTML to PDF Converter and then being able to finally save the web pages as a pdf for future reference.
