Version: Free Audio Editor 2009 8.0
Pros: As so often happens these days, the previous version was much better.
Cons: The free version cannot save as an .mp3 file, which makes what could be a fine program effectively useless.

Version: Free Audio Editor 2009 8.0
Pros: Free ........
Cons: Buggy display - waveform jumps around, sometimes goes blank, hard to tell what's going on, if anything.
Summary: Use Cool Edit (if you can find it) or Audacity for a simple (non-Audition!) editor.
