"Functions great, but interface is ragged, outdated."
Version: Font Xplorer 1.2.2
Pros
Packed with features and options. Clear to understand. Does what it says.
Cons
It's ironic that a program that enables you to do so much with fonts is itself anachronistic in that the font in its menus display chunky and pixelated. An update to the interface to take advantage of Cleartype throughout the program would be nice.
Summary
I really like the product for its functionality, but cringe at the chunky interface... Also it'd be great to see a decent icon rather than the VERY ragged FX currently being used.

"Wicked cool font navigator. Simple, yet versatile."
Version: Font Xplorer 1.2.2
Pros
Easy to use and a great help in finding the right font.
Cons
Not much to report on the negative side. Had some window pop up telling me that I had selected 953 fonts, "did I want to continue?" Probably something I did messing around with its features. This truly rocks...and its FREE.

"OMG! - BEWARE!!!"
Version: Font Xplorer 1.2.2
Pros
It's free.
Cons
I clicked on a button that replaced ALL the fonts in my computer with CHARACTERS!! It was like trying to read hieroglyphics. Hours later I managed to uninstall the program & nearly cried tears of JOY when I saw LETTERS on the desktop after rebooting.
Summary
Be very very careful. This is a powerful program that nearly rendered my system inoperable.

"light weight and does what you need.."
Version: Font Xplorer 1.2.2
Pros
Light weight, easy to use.
Cons
No cons as yet
Summary
Not all MS application preview fonts. I used to create a document listing the fonts with samples what a chore. I then tried the internet to to find samples of MS fonts, that didn't work at all. All the websites were listings of Asian fonts. click click on C-net and I have just what I wanted and more. This little tool lists all the fonst on your system, allows management and most importantly lets you see the font as it would appear in a document. Is it Gautami or Corbel? Who can remember? Using FontXplorer you can find the font you need quickly. The tool is light weight so it loads fast and does just what you want without any fiddling. Open it up and boom, all your fonts are there. Some fonts do change appearance with size, no problem simple button controls allow you to increase and decrease the font size, also you can get the sample to display your text, default is AaBbCc123, so you can be sure that "y" looks just how you want it for little Suzi's birthday card. Want to compare several fonts? No problem, tick boxes allow you to select fonts then filter the display to show just those fonts. So, simple to use, does everything you want and nothing you don't, so it's simple to use (did I mention its simple to use?). FontXplorer also has management tools that allow you to find, install and uninstall fonts. This is the kind of app you look for, simple enough to do what you need quickly and with out any monkeying around, yet contains powerful tools to round out it's intent. Five stars..

"Useless for Arabic fonts"
Version: Font Xplorer 1.2.2
Pros
fast
small hard disk and memory footprint
font management tools; finding duplicate fonts, installing and uninstalling fontsCons
Doesn't display Arabic fonts, and probably other non-English fonts too...
Cannot classify fonts in groups as classic, casual, formal..etcSummary
I fin it a great fast light application, with easy browsing and management capabilities., but I needed an application to browse my library of Arabic fonts, and select classic ones. This application replaces Arabic characters by squares! Lots of them... :-)
