The data-recovery skills of FinalData Premium are impressive, though the interface could benefit from minor improvements. Select a drive, and in a matter of minutes deleted folders, files, URLs, images, and more will be resurrected. Alas, it's difficult to tell how far into the past the program is digging. Are these files from five days ago or five years? Moreover, since all folders are displayed in boldface in your list of results, it isn't clear which are empty and which contain files. FinalData Premium is fast and powerful, however, so data sleuths may find the interface compromises worth weathering.Publisher's description

Version: FinalData Premium 2.0
"Can I give a red or negative star?"
Pros: Easy to use. Quick to determine that this software doesn't retrieve data from corrupted drive.
Cons: It won't read drive data from corrupted drives, when others will. Way too expensive! I have a fairly new drive w/ corrupt info, and this program doesn't even recognize if drives with corrupted files are connected. Don't waste your money, unless you have a very simple need and lots of money to waste.

"(Standard Version) Excellent product."
Pros: (Reviewing Standard version, fewer features than Premium at a lower price).
Yes, you need to pay for it to actually recover your files, but at least you can see what would be recovered first.
No problems installing/running on Windows XP SP-2.
Recovered ALL files from two partitions that had been deleted, resized and reformatted - some 30000 files in all.
Other products I tried would only recover selected file types - FinalData found everything.
Cons: None. Although it's a little dated this product still holds its own.

Version: FinalData Premium 2.0
"Why does it say it recovers damaged office files?"
Summary: I can't understand why they say it recovers damaged office files. It does not as far as I can see. I tried other demos that DID work so I know they were not unrecoverable.
