Editors’ Review
Files to Phones is a quick, easy way to gets files off of your computer and onto your mobile gadgets. While it requires a decent amount of setup, the program works well enough to merit forgiving its small annoyances. There aren't many faster ways to move files from one gadget to another if you have a Bluetooth-capable PC.
This program uses your computer's Bluetooth network to find nearby gadgets and send them files. In most cases, the destination will be your smartphone or tablet, so make sure those have Bluetooth turned on and are able to be discovered before you start using this program -- you'll obviously need a computer with Bluetooth, as well. The program found all of our gadgets in about ten seconds, though it took a few tries to transmit files. Files to Phones seems to accept any kind of file, as we had no trouble sending EXE, DOC, and several media files to our phone in one go. The program's menu is a little bland, but it is relatively easy to navigate that way. If you don't register with the program using your e-mail address, you'll get constant reminders to do so as you use the program.
The program isn't much if you don't have a Bluetooth computer, but it enables easy-to-use, effective wireless file transfer if you do. If you often have to work on files with your tablet or smartphone, Files to Phones is a godsend. It could use a better layout and a few more add-on features, though.
