None-It won't work
Wouldn't install, something wrong with the software.
If you have the same problem I did, I found something else that was wonderful, look for Woo0's File Shredder. Two big thumbs up.
Wiped a whole bunch of things really quickly.
I have no idea if they were as thoroughly wiped as they claim.
My computer is a couple years old and works pretty good it is running Win 7 Pro 64 bit. I downloaded this quickly and it installed without issue. I made sure I checked the right box and I haven't noticed any adware, maleware etc. (I'll be back if I do). Anyhow the first job was a few hundred gigs on an external drive I was afraid this would take days... It was under an hour... I didn't time it I was busy elsewhere I think close to half an hour. It will do small jobs almost instantly. It is pretty easy to figure out... Just add files or folders then press the "Shred Files Now" button. I don't know how you could make it simpler. He has a small website that suggests other products for similar jobs. All-in-all this has been a very satisfying experience so far... If this thing ends up scr*#ing me I'll come back and eat these words :)

Oh, File Shredder DOES work! I've tried retrieving files with Recuva after shredding them with File Shredder. All you get is something that is NOT readable by the computer at all. Don't know about more advanced and extremely expensive forensics software being able to retrieve the contents of the file, but the average computer user would never be able to retrieve that info, for sure.
I don't know what C-Net is talking about in the above review from Feb 2015 - I have a progress bar for disk wiping, and always have. I've been using this little program for years, and I've always been quite happy with it. It's fast, simple and does the job. I am using it on a W8.1-x64 computer without issue.
None. It's a great little program. I just wish the setup file name would include the version you're downloading.
If you want to securely delete files, or wipe entire hard drives, this is the program to use, hands down. Many thanks to the developer for making it free.
Easy to use and is very reliable!
No cons at all just make sure you download from original source.
Not sure...I have had shredders that brought NO crapware along with it, so I will not even use this one. I will delete and all the junkware it added.
Junkware galore with this bogus program. BEWARE!!!
Whether the shredder works well is irrelevant--you do not want this program unless you want a big fat load of junkware with it. Really, a LOT. This sucks.

If you download from the actual source you wouldn't get 'crapware' also you need to always do the advanced install and not agree to add other things along with the install.
Please don't blame the program because you refuse to be vigilant of what you're downloading.
Secure deletion of any files and folders. I haven't been able to restore any deleted files.
None. Everything works and looks nice.
I don't understand where is all that malware people been screaming about in the reviews. Bitdefender doesn't detect a thing. I case it offers you to install something, just decline.
Non that I can think of
Sadly CNET Download Service can no longer be trusted.
Sadly CNET Download Service can no longer be trusted. This site is now riddled with software that contains malware, crapware, bloatware, etc. Just read the recent reviews of this software and many many others and you will get the picture. Shame on CNET for letting this happen to a great service. Perhaps much of the installation of this wide spread malware being installed is the result of careless users not realizing what they are checking, clicking or agreeing to....but that's besides the point. Deceptive business practices that lead to this outcome are just plain wrong. Case in point, there are typically 6 download buttons/links listed on the top of each download page, 4 of which have nothing to do with the intended download. This is all done to create confusion for the user in hopes of tricking him or her into clicking the wrong button. And if you click the CNET sponsored download link, beware. The link is littered with tricks and traps to get you to unknowingly agree to install malware. I'm all for tying to make money, but doing it through gimmicks, tricks and deception is just pathetic...and should be illegal.
It's time to reevaluate your business model CNET...I for one will longer be using your once great service.
It works on Win 7 in 32 bit mode.
No option for 64 bit. Developer abandoned app a long time ago. He's no longer around. There is false info showing there is a newer version 2.5.57 but that's a lie. The only version is 2.5(0). Dont bother searching for a newer version, it doesn't exist.
Very basic, slow, but it works.

Not true. Current Version is 220.127.116.11 available directly from fileshredder.org . I recommend downloading it directly from the developers website.
It works perfectly. No problems at all.
Very slow wiping free disk space.
I see the constant complaint about "malware".There is none. However as with any downloads from CNET be certain to press "decline in the gray box if you don`t want additional programs installed.
Easy and intuitive set up and use.
Thorough disk wipe.
Some time the wipe was fast and sometimes the wipe was slow. It would be nice to have an estimated time for completion at the onset of the project, and some feedback as to delays, e.g., damaged disk or large amount of data. Also, users must be on the lookout for inadvertently clicking on Adware that supports the download sites.
I would recommend this product over other similar products that I have used, e.g., McAfee.
