A comprehensive file-management tool it isn't, but this simple program can modify the properties of your system's files and folders. Febooti FileTweak integrates with the Windows shell and is easily accessible in the properties window on the right-click menu. The program places additional tabs to modify the dates, the attributes, the view, and the description of your system's files and folders. With no hassle, we're able to change the create, modify, and access dates and timestamps of our files. You can view the contents of files and folders, but this only worked with TXT files during tests. Using Febooti FileTweak, it's easy to dub files as read-only, archives, hidden, or temporary. We like that the program gives the option to apply your changes to subfolders or to exclude system files from modifications. However, unlike similar tools, this one doesn't create backups of configured files, so be sure you can live with the adjustments. The application could use some other folder-management features such as a file renamer, a folder creator, and a deletion tool. With fast and reliable results, this 40-day trial is effective, but not as bountiful as other competitive file managers.

  "Wouldn't run on Vista. Error opening .MSI file"

  on December 7, 2007

  Pros: Can't tell. Wouldn't run.

  Cons: After installing (succesfully according to the installer), running the program resulted in an error "can't find SomeName.MSI". Reinstalling/Repairing didn't fix the problem.
