  Pros

  Program is packed with many advanced options for conversions. Batch mode works great, file renaming, resizing, changing formats, etc.

  Pros

  Fast instalation, intuitive commands, fast conversion. I have tried other two programms before and I was not happy with them. I'll keep this one for sure. Many thanks for developer!

  Pros

  Downloaded and installed on a Windows 10 machine in about 2 minutes and within 5 minutes had batched and resized 40 huge photos. Compressed sizes were between 9% and 15% of original sizes. Quality good. GUI is easy to figure out and worked without quirks.

  None so far.

  Summary

  Installs smoothly and works fast, just as Editors said. Their review is right on target this time.

  Messed up some of my images by adding randomly sized (usually 1~10 pixels wide) blue borders to them, had to clean them up one by one by hand, wasted almost half a day because of this

  Pros

  I used this back on a Win7 PC and it worked great. But on Win8 it won't install.

  Cons

  Trying it now I get a popup saying "Abort, Retry, Fail". I haven't seen this since Windows 95. Additional info: "Error opening file for writing: C:\Program Files (x86)\FastStone Photo Resizer\LiscenseAgreement.rtf For v3.2 and 3.3

  Admittedly the size one specifies is not always exactly what turns out, but it is certainly close enough for my purposes. Given that it is so fast and easy to use, I'm not about to quibble over minor discrepancies. I initially wanted only to shrink some of my images to make them easier to email. Now that I've found that I can add text, borders, frames, and watermarks I'm really excited. Batch renaming is another unexpected bonus. FastStone has hit another home run with this product.

  This is a great product except for one thing: The resizing simply does not maintain the parameters that are set. I often have to do a batch several times to get it right. The percentage resize just is not consistent nor accurate. The worst thing, absolutely terrible is that it resizes even when that option is unchecked or set at 100 percent. For example, I wanted to add text (I use text instead of a watermark jpeg) to a batch but not resize the photos. This cannot be done; Faststone resized them from 100 percent to 14-16 percent. I have emailed customer suppport at leasgt three times to ask about this, and was never contacted. Yes, the app is free, but this is a major problem and certainly they can at least say "we can't change that" or "here's a workaround".
