CNET Editors' review
When e-mailing or archiving huge files, it sometimes helps to cut them into smaller pieces. Fast File Saw & Joiner does exactly that, and puts the pieces back together, too. The interface consists of two tabs: Join File Pieces and Saw File. The controls for setting the piece size aren't very intuitive, but in our tests the program did a good job splitting and merging a 1GB file without overloading the computer. Unfortunately, it can't create self-joining packages, so recipients of your files will also need to install the program. Given that more popular and powerful archive programs, such as WinZip, also split and join files, it's hard to argue for using Fast File Saw & Joiner instead. So we won't try. If you need a free program for some quick file splitting, this one will do the job. For more regular use, you may as well pick up a more full-featured archive package instead.Publisher's Description
From K-werkx:
Splits files into smaller pieces or chunks using the .001 .002 etc. format where the number in the extension is a piece of the original file. It will also rejoin these file pieces for later use. Supports pieces and files larger than 2GB. Designed for file transfer, storage, and spanning larger files across smaller storage media, and portable devices. Popular with Video professionals, often used to split large movies, audio files and archived files (MPEGs, AVI, MP3, ZIP, SIT) although just about any file can be split and later rejoined. Saw options include splitting files by the piece size and or number of pieces.
Version 3.2 removes the nag screen.

Version: Fast File Saw & Joiner 3.2
Pros
does exactly what it is suppose to do. if you are wishing to join rar or zip files, you've got the wrong program. but for split files it works great, whether or not the files were created with this program or another split/join program.
Cons
have seen no cons
Summary
Basically a very good and light program that will join your split files (.001,002, .etc) Joined some files that HJ split refused to do, so Im sticking

"no good didn't work for me!!"
Version: Fast File Saw & Joiner 3.2
Pros
east interface, very simple as you would expect in a joiner-cutter.
Cons
didn't work at all like it was supposed to. I tried several attempts but the thing gave me a large file output that couldn't be read.
-
"it's marginally good"
Version: Fast File Saw & Joiner 3.2
Pros
It will cut the videos as promised. It woks well
Cons
It only joins files that the program has split apart. It won't join whole movie files that it did not separate. The program is looking for extions such as file.001, file.002 etc. I wont work if your files are file1.avi, file2.avi. If you are spliting your files in order to email them I suggest you use a zipping program. Much each and way more sure.
