Fans of the Facebook social-media site can stay in touch on their mobile devices with the free Facebook app for Android. Having everything geared toward the Android operating system differentiates it from the standard mobile Web version.
The differences are subtle, but the interface and options are a bit more streamlined, so navigation was smoother and easier. We also didn't need to worry about screen size incompatibilities, a problem we've had using the mobile version. The differences extend to the layout, and again they're positive. The main menu on the right doesn't hijack the screen, but rather politely pushes the news feed line aside to help you get a clearer view of your group lists and message menus. We also liked how easy it was to zoom in for a clearer view of an image post. The Facebook app provides easy access to chat, photos, and other features, and also lets you manage your profile and friend requests. It worked well in our tests and we didn't encounter any problems.
If you want (or need) seamless access to your Facebook account on your Android mobile device, the Facebook app provides exactly that at no charge.

I liked the idea of being able to upload more than one picture... if I now could.
It works okay as a reader and seemed marginally better than the previous release.Cons
I can no longer directly upload photos. It tries twice and then errors out. I never had this problem before.
Summary
I have to post pictures via third party now or go back to the old version that came on my phone two years ago.

What pros? It does not work anymore for past 4 to 5 weeks (since mid-May 2012)!! Argh!!!

Quit working .. tried uninstalling, reinstalling, etc. Has quit loading and just spins like an idiot forever. It started with the updates in mid-May. Noticed many others in same predicament. Hello! Facebook? Get your heads out of your IPO arses!!!!

I love having facebook on my android. Having facebook at your finger tips is so nice and handy.
Cons
After updating my app it quit working completely so I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it but now it wont reinstall. It says cannot download due to error 941.

Great way to keep up to date with your facebook account and report your whacky ways of life latest version 1.7 is better than before as scrolling was terrible.
Cons
On HTC Wildfire it has low memory so it takes a lot up about 7mb and it wont stay closed when you exit, still runs in the background when you turn on your 3G or Wi-fi network it loads up automatically by its self and sends you updates if there enabled. The powering up without my permission is the one thing I hate would also be good if you could move it to memory card.
