Adds SetVariable plug-in for string manipulation and simple mathematical functions.

This program helps you create functions to monitor and manage files and folders, but expect a steep learning curve. FileScan Tool Pro Lite's stripped-down interface is still measurably more complex than many programs. This utility is powerful and not afraid to make users work for results. The Help file accurately describes each program function, but offers little workflow instruction.

With this tool, you're building system functions that lie in the background and work on select folders or files. The demo is limited to a single function, though the registered version can create multiple instances and even have functions trigger additional functions. Each one is easily created using a drag-and-drop interface to move command modules to construct a script. The script is modified by the easily configured options accessible in the program's main interface. Once you have script and options set, you start the function with a click. Depending on your options, it can either monitor a folder, waiting for the right circumstances to begin work, or operate on a user-selected schedule.

As with any script-driven program, FileScan Tool Pro Lite takes some time to learn the commands and script flow. The demo is very limited with the small command set, single function and 30-minute per-use operation. Nevertheless, intermediate to expert users looking for specific control over their folders and files will want to give this function-builder a test drive.
