Another global "football" season means another edition of EA Sports' excellent soccer sim, and we shouldn't take this demo for granted, considering that FIFA's hefty cousin Madden NFL hasn't provided a trial version in years. That said, the 550MB download doesn't deliver anything unexpected or much different from the demo for 2006 FIFA World Cup. It's fun to play with famous players like Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi, and Wayne Rooney, and it's hard to knock a demo that allows unlimited four-minute matches with six international club teams, but there's simply not enough content or customization to warrant a higher rating.
The demo allows you to play as and against Manchester United (U.K.), Lyon (France), Werder Bremer (Germany), AC Milan (Italy), Guadalajara (Mexico), or Barcelona (Spain), and each team includes recognizable superstars, like controversial World Cup star Cristiano Ronaldo. The only provided field is Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, and the matches are limited to one four-minute half. The game controls will be familiar to anyone who's played FIFA, and since it's clearly a console port, a controller works much better than the keyboard. Unfortunately, though the controls are logical and easy to learn, you can't change them or refer back to the control guide during an active match. Also, matches are limited to single-player action, so forget about competing against a pal.
A new game engine this year feels more realistic than in previous years, especially to players comfortable with the style of the slower Winning Eleven series, and the graphics are likewise improved. The physical interaction among players on the pitch is particularly good. However, most of this year's additions, like the enhanced manager mode and interactive online leagues, aren't included in this demo, leaving non-diehard fans of FIFA to wonder if the lengthy download and installation process is worth the effort. We recommend this game only to big fans of soccer sims or those considering the full version.

"Very good game, will be considering full game (if i buy a controller)!"
Pros: The graphics can now be configured thanks to the FIFA 07 demo expander mod I found, the graphics in game are very good all though the face textures on the players still do not look brilliant (is this a port of the PS2/Xbox version?) Sound is great although not as good as the 2006 FIFA world cup game.
Cons: The song used on the demo by US3 was kinda good at first but gets annoying very easily. IT IS STILL HALF A BLOOMIN' MATCH although is slightly slower than previous games. Controls are very annoying on keyboard no matter what configuration you try! (I wish download.coms ratings had half ratings, cos it is better than 3 out of 5 but not good enough for four out of 5!) Oh well just rate it 4.

Version: FIFA 07 1.0
Pros: Its just too good to explain!I just love the commentary, it may be harsh but it made me play alot better.Don't ignore their negative comments like "It was not the easiest of chances, but it was a golden and he should have taken it cause you know what that's what the best player do, he didn't." They will say that if you have a really good chance to goal and you just waste like a piece of do do.And it's not just a good game, its a good simulator because almost everything you do depends on your position and so on...But this is FIFA's best piece of work

"You gotta get the full game!!"
Pros: You gotta get the full game to enjoy this!! Looks real! Dead ball control! Team Management! Make your own team players and play online (not on the demo though)
Cons: You only play one half! Lots of stuff locked!
