computer literate. Still it is an easy to use tool overall.Summary
I used ExcelFIX as part of the OfficeFIX suite to recover files that were
damaged by a virus (Access too) and the result was flawless. I believe the
tool is the same as part of the suite or if you get it separately. -

This is the second program by Cimware Software that I try and I'm amazed by the results I had. I really recommend this program to anyone who needs it!

While the demo version appeared to recover my file correctly, the actual file was unusable.
Summary
The demo version appeared to recover my file so I purchased the program. After activating the software (a difficult process!) I ran the recovery process again and saved the file. When I attempted to open it in Excel 2003, I received the same error from Excel that I had received before I ran ExcelFix.
I contacted the company for a refund and they told me they needed me to send them the file for manual recovery - and only if they were unsuccessful would they refund me the purchase price.
The file is confidential and I am unable to send it to them!! I now have to escalate the problem or be stuck wtih a useless program and a $139 bill.
Do not purchase this program even if your file appears to be converted correctly by the demo version.
This is no way to do business! -
