Flash Decompiler Trillix is a powerful SWF to FLA converter with the ability to decompile Flash files, extract SWF elements to multiple formats and edit SWF files (texts, hyperlinks, images and more) without SWF to FLA conversion. Flash Decompiler fully supports Flash 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Flash CS5 and CS5.5 (supports TLF texts and conversion .xfl - XML-based FLA) and Flex. It features multi-window interface that allows working with and comparing several SWF files at a time and lets you fully examine the detailed tags structure of a SWF file with its unique Dump View option. The following SWF elements can be extracted directly to your hard drive with an ease of one click: sounds, images, videos, shapes, frames, morphs, fonts, texts, buttons, sprites and ActionScript. With Flash Decompiler Trillix you can export Flash Video to AVI, MPEG, FLV and FLA, save sounds as WAV or MP3, images as PNG, JPEG and BMP, and texts as RTF, TXT and HTML. You can also convert Flex files back into Flex projects in case your SWF files were built in Flex.
slight learning curve with the interface (quickly adjusted to it)
Summary
This utility allowed me to examine all the objects comprising flash elements of my company's old website (the previous designer was no longer available), which was indispensable in creating a new one.
Crashes flash
NL_best
Pros
Can extract images, but creating an editable FLA is another story.
Cons
Says it converted the SWF to FLA successfully, but when I try to open the resulting FLA in Flash, Flash says the file is corrupt and stops working.
Summary
The demo version of this software does not do enough to thoroughly evaluate its performance. After dropping $80, I found that the software is worthless as the FLA files it created could not be opened in Flash.
Service Support par excellence
loftusdl
Pros
5 stars plus on service support
Cons
program is not real intuitive - requires some learning/experimentation
Summary
A very good product with excellent service support
DON'T UPGRADE! It'll disable the software!
cnereviewer
Pros
Decompiles Flash Quickly?
Cons
Actionscript is somewhat hard (expected for a decompiler).
My biggest problem is the support: I tried to update it via the menu and it disabled the software. Tech support says it's my problem and hasn't helped.
Summary
It worked fine until I tried to update it. Now I spent the money on software that won't work. It's been a week since I originally complained and am getting the runaround,
quote:
According to our purchase policy all registered users can download free upgrades within the major version. All further upgrades can be purchased with 50% discount. This can be derived from Eltima Upgrade policy page
I just want it to work again and it's taken too much effort. I've called, emailed and filled out their online forms.
Go with another company - They all offer the same product (flash decompiler) but OTHERS will hopefully NOT disable your software for clicking on "update" after you've paid good money.
Just my opinion after dealing with customer service this week!
Will not install
okknor
Pros
I don't know
Cons
Opens a black console window and closing it before it does anything
Summary
Almost worked, but did not preserve Flash 8 filters
powerflash
Pros
Like how the browser lets you inspect individual elements within the SWF.
Cons
Does not seem to preserve the use of filters (Flash 8+)
Summary
Saved me a lot of work from recreating the FLA from scratch, but I still had to redo all of the filter effects after decompiling the SWFs to FLAs (version 8 FLAs). Also, some dynamic text fields lost their formatting - while other text fields came out fine. After decompiling from SWF to FLA and making a simple text edit to the FLA, then publishing back to SWF, the file size of the new SWF ended up about 25% larger than the original SWF. It's not perfect - don't expect a perfect decompile, as you will need to do some (or a lot) of tweaking to the resulting FLA depending on its complexity.
Works better than the others I tried
KidDynamic
Pros
This has a great interface, easy to use, and works perfectly. I was able to open a SWF that had external AS, several imported classes, and it worked without a flaw. Everything was named understandably, the script was clean, and I'm very happy.
Cons
I wasn't clear on the limitations for the demo version. The demo exported all the imagery as black and white and didn't export actionscript. But it was the only thing that worked.
Summary
This software saved my bacon, and I tried 3 others with no success until I found this one. it's worth the $80!
Crashes Flash
kitch09
Pros
None - the FLA files it creates cause Flash to crash.
Cons
After running a SWF through this decompiler, the resulting FLA file crashes Flash as soon as I try to open the file.
Summary
Not sure of the value of this software if I can't use the decompiled FLA files ??
Looked promising, BUT...
sparkflash
Pros
Displays all of the elements within a SWF
Cons
Resulting FLA crashes my Flash
Summary
I was trying to recover the source for my SWF and I thought this app would do the trick. It looked promising when this app was able to open my SWF and display all of the elements in the library. But when this program exports the SWF to FLA, the resulting FLA file crashes Flash when I try to open it. I found another decompiler on Download.com that can create FLA's that I am able to open and edit. I suppose you could use this program to extract individual elements from a swf file, and use those parts to manually reconstruct the FLA in Flash - but it would be a lot of work for complex animations.
Could not decompile my simple slideshow
flash_guru
Pros
None - it didn't work for me
Cons
Could not even decompile my simple slideshow with minimal actionscript.
Very awkward interface
Refused to refund $$ despite 15 day money back guarantee
Summary
This software is the biggest mistake I've ever purchased. It could not even decompile my simple slide show. I'm not sure where all these other glowing reviews are coming from. I contacted their tech support, and they comfirmed that their software was unable to decompile my files. They claimed there must be something wrong with my swf's, despite the fact the the swf's play perfectly in the Flash Player AND in the preview window IN THEIR SOFTWARE. How can their software display is correctly, but not decompile it correctly? Needless to say, they have also rejected my request for a refund, despite the 15 day money back guarantee proudly displayed on their site. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SOFTWARE ! ! !
