• Rock Hard. King in Class.

  Pros

  From dead simple to seriously complex text / code / files management... the buck stops here. Been using this for so many years I cannot remember. I have tried almost everything (obsessively). Amoung Vim, UltraEdit, Zeus and some others that I am always using, I mostly rely on this for the daily grind. Just to mention, probably not a lot of reviews here because serious coders don't typically pick up much (in this ilk) here at Cnet, but rather go straight to the source. While passing through I thought I'd leave a note in consideraton for my gratitude for this superior product (for many many years now), and to let others at any level know to definitely try this if you are looking for a better text editor. Good for users at any level.

  There are no cons -this has years under its belt, and works flawlessly, period.

  Pros

  It has done everything I've asked of it and never failed. I've had many editors in the past 50 years and this is as good as the best of them.

  Nothing serious. I'm just not too into regular expressions.

  What more can I say? For anyone who can stand the complexity this is the editor of choice.

  Pros

  Has special features for programmers, such as custom colors and formatting for most languages, but still is far better than notepad for simple text files. Powerful search and replace functions.

  Takes a bit of learning to be get used to the program, but is well worth it.

  Will READ .dat Files (only product I've found that will actually do this)

  There is nothing I don't like about this product.

  Summary

  Ever get a "Returned" e-mail from the Postmaster? They are very annoying. What even worse is that they arrive with .dat file attachments. None of the software that comes with Windows will read these files. EditPad Pro is the only software that will read these files.

  love the CTRL+E browser preview when you are coding or scripting hmtl files. <p>The open all files in folder is great, when you need to update a piece of code site round and still want to go for a pint in the evening!

  The code highlighting could be improved though!! Doesn't beat Notepad++ which is freeware!!!
