Virus found in install process!!!!

- Useless; converts the 1st page from a Google pdf file and that was it.

- When it works, it is very fast. Text only files convert readily. Text errors are few.
- Cons
- The interface is basic. One has to open the program and manually locate the pdf file for conversion and select it for the conversion to occur. (The program does not add a right-click conversion option). Some pdf files fail to convert - reported as 'encrypted'. (Happens to many files). Each pdf page is converted into one text file. Thus a 10 page pdf file converts to 10 separate text files, which have then to be combined using Word or similar program.

- It's a no frills program with some limitations, but it is free!

- None that I saw. Sure it's free, but when it wastes your time, even free isn't a benefit

- Tried to use it with a PDF I'd just scanned. It claimed to have converted the file, but when I opened it I ended up with a blank page. Tried another file (that I'd downloaded) just to see if I could get it to work with anything, and it claimed to be encrypted. Clearly, it will be of no use to me.

- Save yourself the frustration of uninstalling and don't bother to download.
Great with very large files, error prone

- Can work with huge files, as it writes out one file per page, other converters crashed aroung the 7000-10,000 page.

- Errors! Street becomes Stret, 25,000 becomes 250, etc...

- Does not work with repeating characters. Hopefully there will be a fix out real soon!
Excellent for Text Extracts

- Ever extracted a few 000 OCR output pages? Correcting a 2000 page document will drive you crazy if you have a single document. Single page outputs helps systematic corrections and keeping track of what you have done And combine .txt files later.

- I have straight forward .pdf files to begin with, no image etc. It does exactly what it claims and free. What's more can I expect? It is a keeper for me.
