A few complaints aside, we think this utility for working with video clips makes an all-around satisfactory choice. As its name indicates, Easy AVI/VCD/DVD/MPEG Converter batch-converts video files to and from the most popular video formats. You'll also find a tool for joining and splitting multiple video clips, though we should note that the latter tool isn't as easy to use as some other chopping utilities we've tested. If you choose the MPEG output format, you'll be able to tweak such elements as the frame rate and the clip size. The tabbed interface couldn't be simpler, but it's gray and unattractive. The application displays conversion results in real time and offers a basic player for previewing clips. However, the help files are not built right into the interface, and you'll only find a small FAQ on the developer's site. Also, the trial version lets you convert or merge only five minutes of a movie. Though this restriction is more generous than those of some of its competitors, it's still not ideal. All told, Easy AVI/VCD/DVD/MPEG Converter is likely to interest users seeking a no-nonsense way to convert and join video files.Publisher's description

The main features include the ability to convert video files to AVI, VCD, SVCD, DVD, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and WMV files in batch mode. The application can join video files (even different formats) into a large movie file and can split large video files into smaller pieces and save them in AVI, VCD, DVD, and MPEG formats. It allows the user to specify either NTSC or PAL formatting for the output file as well as convert between PAL and NTSC. The user-friendly interface lets you preview video files and convert them.
