Yet another attempt to analyze the map of a hard drive, this application presents all the facts and figures without true analysis. Disk Triage's cluttered, complicated, and convoluted interface is not for the casual user. Everything about this application is for system administrators, Webmasters, and power users, who will love it. The program quickly scans your hard drive to generate a mountain of data file sizes, locations, modification dates, types, owners, extensions, attributes, and some even more esoteric data. Though the help file mentions analysis of the data, the user does the actual work. It's not that Disk Triage can't quickly generate attractive graphs; it's just up to you to figure out what they mean. The program's output interface does cleanly list each and every generated data type. The data is presented primarily in 2D and 3D graphs, but many data types include full file lists. A dedicated user can even design reports. System administrators will appreciate the program's Compare function for checking a drive against its earlier state. Our only gripe is the inability to schedule automatic drive checks. Don't expect this program to tell you your hard drive is failing, but expert user analysis of Disk Triage's data will forestall a few problems.
