• Neat, solid, just works!

  Pros

  Has all the main features I need including cursor highlighting. Succeeds where several other (free) screen recorders failed (dropped out halfway through recording).

  Cons

  None really unless you count having to pay, but price was reasonable.

  Long videos take a very long time to save and freezes up the computer

  There has been very slight hiccups, and I have tried many programs like this but none can compare. I don't even write reviews. I hate it. But I love Debut more than I hate writing this stuff. So there, first and last review ever. Good Luck

  Very Simple to use. Dose have a free version for non commercial use. Records in many different formats.

  Great for screen recording, especially for doing "Lets Play" Recordings.

  Cons

  Freezes constantly. Worked for a few seconds then freezes and NEVER records anything else after after 3 seconds. Its infuriating, especially when you have a brand new computer with little software on it and a program like this runs into problems.

  if recording for a few continuously the videos seem lagging abit sometimes the audio can be out of sync. It will be fixed after rebooting the windows. It just means i have to do it again. Could be my pc problem tho.

  Cons

  I purchased this product to capture streaming videos that were not downloadable. First, the defaults, both for frame rate and audio source, were not proper for this activity. I managed to correct the audio so that it captured from the speakers, but I was unable to find a frame rate that didn't give a choppy picture and sound track. Frequently, the sound and picture weren't in synch. I looked on their site to find the refund request and it is non-existent. When I sent them a technical support message requesting the refund, I was sent a message that my request would be answered after they answered all of the requests from people who had purchased a support contract. Two weeks have gone bye and I still haven't had a non-automated response.

  Summary

  Don't purchase anything from them as their stated refund policy is NOT implemented.

• Unnecessary Software Restrictions

  Pros

  The software works OK. I had no problems with it.

  Cons

  I discovered too late that you are only allowed to install it twice in a 12 month period. I reinstall my OS more often than that. I asked for a key without that restriction or a refund instead of re-activation and they refused to give me either one.

  Summary

  I could not find a disclosure about the software installation limit on their web site. Had there been a clearly published notice about the 2 installation limit in 12 months I never would have purchased this product. I cannot recommend buying something that imposes restrictions like this.

  Pros

  Seems to be very intuitive and is easy to use. I liked the UI and the fact that I could choose from multiple video formats.

  Cons

  Doesn't work well to record full screen games, primarily because hotkeys don't function while the game is active. I tried starting the recording with the game minimized, but the recording ended when I maximized the window.

  Summary

  This looks to be a great program for recording webcam videos or anything that takes place inside of a window. However, I downloaded it to use with a full screen games and it doesn't work for that.
