• Probably the best media player!

  Pros

  Free, feature rich, easy to use, asks you if you want to resume videos where you left off (very important for me), overall an excellent media player!

  Cons

  When you move cursor to the right, even the mid screen the right pane pops up - quite annoying but will have to live with it as I like all other features

  Real Player incorporates the ability to download videos and songs directly from the broswer. PotPlayler does not have this ability.

  Summary

  The User Interface is simple, uncluttered, and easy to use. I can organize and shuffle songs and videos easily. The song quality beats anything out there I have tried. Also, there are many more ways to customize the player: size, aspect ratio, equalizer, etc. I'm really impressed. Glad that Real Networks pissed me off.....

• Excellent Primary Video and Audio Player

  Plays most all video and audio formats. Outstanding customizability and flexibility.

  Cons

  Can be complex to find your way around because of the options, setting choices and tinkering that's possible. (If that's a con.) Fortunately, the default settings usually serve adequately for simple needs.

  Summary

  This has become my go-to player ahead of VLC (not a slam of VLC at all!). It seems to have taken on the mantle of the now useless malware product that GOM Player has become. It uses many of the same control keys and option settings and affords wonderful customizabillity. Just figuring out all it can do can be a little challenging, but the user community is growing, active and helpful. Highly recommended.

  Looks good.

  Cons

  Installed in English, but some menus were in Chinese. After update, all was in Chinese and I couldn't selsct English since I don't understand Chinese.

  Summary

  Needs more work. Stable and dependable players are available. I wouldn't waste time with an unstable language player.

  Pros

  I've been using KMP for many years, until recently, when it become full of adware/malware, forcing me to switch to other player. This PotPlayer was created by KMP original author, if u like KMP like me, u r going to like it as well.

  1. Fast. 2. Low on resources. 3. Very stable. 4. Aesthetic interface. 5. Highly customizable. 6. Plays about everything that you throw at it.

  Summary

  I use Win XP. I was hooked to KMPlayer and never bothered to look for another free player, until it started acting up, crashing and increasing ads with every new update. It is no longer what it used to be. Then I found PotPlayer. This is by the same developer who created KMPlayer and later sold it. The interface and options are pretty similar. If you have used KMPlayer and liked it, then you will love this.

  VERY low usages of computer resources & will play all types of media from video to audio

  I started out using VLC media player but it kept freezing on me & at one time I only had 1gb of RAM so I couldn't use VLC & the internet or ANY other software at the same time because of all the memory VLC used so I started searching for alternatives (I've tried every media player out there) & when I found Potplayer my search was over because it allows me to open several other programs or surf the web with no hiccups while watching a movie or listening to music.. So if your PC is low on RAM & you have playback issues Daum Potplayer is your answer.. It doesn't have all the bells & whistles that VLC has but then again thats probably why VLC eats up so much memory..!!!

• 1080p MP4 plays perfectly

  Pros

  I tried smplayer and umplayer; they both just plain fail on 1080p MP4; video lags way behind audio, won't respond to timeline jumps. PotPlayer worked perfectly, right out of the install. Jumps instantly when I click anywhere in the timeline, audio remains perfectly in sync with video. Chapter markers on timeline are a very nice touch.

  Cons

  One of my MP4s has embedded subtitles, and I can't find any way to just turn them off. But if I change the font color to maroon, they fade away almost completely.
