Ugly yet beautiful...
Sociopathic Bliss- Pros
- It does what it says. It's small. It's virus, spyware, & malware free. It's free! It even remembered and address from Opera, I'd read somewhere that Opera wasn't supported but this lends me to think otherwise (I never DL direct from my browser unless nesacerry).
- Cons
- It's ugly, butt ugly. Most dependable things are. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was for asthetics. Menu's are abbreviate f=file x=exit etc. Anyone who is familiar with using ANY program should adapt quickly and easily.
- Summary
It does what it is supposed to do -- downloading in faster speed
firoozfam- Pros
- simple, fast, easy to use. It doesn't have a fancy GUI for a simple task, downloading.
- Cons
- assigning a task to it might be a little difficult sometimes.

The Stop is why it's good
PCDUDE- Pros
- Cons
- Summary
- The speed is no better than the IE downloader, but being able to stop the download and continue later is what makes this good. For whatever reason, it sometimes failes to pick up, and the Explorer downloader pickes up, but for being free, I would say that it's great!
The Best Download Manager!
OpenVoice- Pros
- Cons
- Summary
- I took all the pains to sign up with Download.com just to write my review on this product. And posting comments/reviews is something which I rarely do. To begin with, this program is as good as DAP if not better - in performance. You just need to get used to the UI. Also note, when starting the program for the first time, you will get a dialog box "Select Version", click on the drop-down menu and select "English (Default)" if you use English. You can also tick the "Don't display this ..". This program delivers what it promises. Any improvement it might need is in desgign aspects and inclusion of a help file. DLExpert is gonna be my favorite download manager for a long time. Excllent job, Chen Ying! Buddha bless you! Amen!

- Summary
- i havn't spent much time exploring/evaluating this. I downloaded a 3 meg file from cnet with this which took a lot more that i would expect windows to take. I had to chose a dll to run at startup... the default that came up was some weiered combination of chinese letters and "?"s. I had to do that again and chose the english dll. It gave me the download speed in bps instead of kbps and it wasn't clear that it ment "bits per second" or "bytes per second"... the speed it showed was unrealistic. When it showed no activity in its graph it was giving me 4mbs(in wat ever measure), which decremented gradually...it has some kind of untuned buffer which doesn't correspond to instantanious speed or it's really slow to do that. Not impressed with this program overall. I do not recomend this. DL accelerator/gozzila/mozzilla/getright...etc seem a better choice.
Amazingly free

- Summary
- Very good, not as fast as DAP, but won't deliver you a spam/ad/nagging hell as DAP does. The UI is not very easy, but is clear for experienced users, and there is no eye candy to steal memory. 3 thumbs up So if yopu want free, grab it.
