Cyclone Wallpaper Changer is an easy-to-use program that lets people do exactly that. With an intuitive interface and plenty of options for customization, Cyclone Wallpaper Changer keeps your desktop fresh and interesting.
The program's interface is plain and easy to navigate. Users can select images individually or just choose a folder full of favorites. Next, choose whether you want the program to center, tile, or stretch your images, and set a background color for those that are centered and don't fill up the entire desktop. Our favorite thing about Cyclone Wallpaper Changer was the multitude of options it offered for the rotation frequency; users can set the program to rotate images after a certain number of seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months, or on start-up. If you want to disable the rotation for a while without exiting the program, just choose "never," and then switch it back when you're ready. The program can display images randomly or move through the selected images in order, and users can even create different albums of images and switch between them. Although everything about the program is intuitive, it also comes with a well-written Help file that explains its features. Overall, Cyclone Wallpaper Changer doesn't do anything that we haven't seen before in other programs, but its commonsense interface and useful features make it among the better programs of this type that we've tried.

Cyclone Wallpaper Changer is a free program for managing your Desktop's wallpaper. It supports a wide variety of image formats and has an easy to use interface. The wallpaper changing interval is completely customizable. It can be set with advanced options for system startup, seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks or each month. Pictures can be centered, tiled or stretched, and the Desktop background color can be changed for each image. Wallpaper selection can be manual, ordered or random. Wallpaper lists can be saved and opened allowing you to create albums of specific pictures and themes.
Add a folder to a wallpaper album to have all of its containing pictures automatically added. Folders are automatically updated for content, so if any pictures are added or removed from the folder, Cyclone Wallpaper Changer will recognize these changes and update the album accordingly. As a bonus, the transparency level of the Windows Taskbar can be customized and Desktop icons can be hidden to keep your Desktop clean and simple.
What's new in this version: Version 1.1 adds transparency features (hide desktop icons, hide Vista sidebar, set Windows taskbar transparency), adds feature to allow program filtered wallpaper rotation pausing, changes Default album functionality so it behaves like custom user albums, and includes other enhancements and bug fixes.

"Couldn't make it do what I needed."

Great idea with a fairly simple interface.
Cons
Not flexible enough for me. Also it set the default background to cyan and nothing I could do would change it back for more than a single image change. When set to "center", large scale photos are mostly lost to the edges, but when set to "fit" smaller photos stretch beyond recognition.
Summary
A great idea that needs a whole lot more polish.

Basic functionality is good - does its job.

Cannot randomize wallpapers correctly. It does not sift through all wallpaper choices before it repeats one from a day or so ago.
Summary
I have over 100 wallpapers I want to randomize on the screen but this app keeps bringing up pictures from just a few images ago without even touching the bulk of my other pictures.

Works great--I've got probably 150 wallpapers in a folder and it uses them to change my wallpaper background every 15 minutes (you can set your own interval time). Works perfectly!
Cons
None at all. This was exactly what I hoped it would be.
Summary
I am so satisfied with this software you might think I'm a hack for the company that makes it, but I'm not. It really is that good.

Quick and easy to start. I choose a folder of favorite wallpapers, and desired frequency to cycle through the images.
Cons
I'm using Windows 7. Uninstall states that the program is running. I've followed all the instructions, can't shut this off.
Summary
I can change the images in the folder, but can't seem to change the selected folder. Cyclone keeps reverting to the first folder chosen. I would install again as I have hundreds of images to enjoy. I require more control. When I say "stop" I mean stop.
