CNET Editors' review
Cute Translator lets users translate text between 13 different languages. Although the program does translate text quickly, we found the program's other features frustrating and, in some cases, unusable.
We were met right off the bat with two nonsensical error messages when the program opened. We ignored them, and the program opened without issues. The interface is simple enough, with a box for users to input text and another below it where the translation appears. Translations are completed quickly. The program's extra features, however, are annoying to set up. Users can have text read aloud to them by one of four characters, but first they have to download the characters. And then they have to download each language they want the characters to speak. On top of that, they have to install some other file to get the characters to actually speak aloud. The program does provide the option to download all optional components at once, but this is time-consuming, and it's not made clear from the outset that this is something that needs to be done. We also found that even after completing the downloads, the program couldn't translate between Latin and non-Latin alphabets, rendering six of the languages useless. If there was some way to correct this, the program didn't let us know; the online user manual addressed none of these issues.
Cute Translator has a 15-day trial period. It installs politely but leaves a folder behind upon removal. We do not particularly recommend this program; there are better translators out there.

"Note to CNET EDITORS!!!!"
Version: Cute Translator 3.32
Pros
This CNET review is useless!
Cons
This CNET review is useless!
Summary
I didn't use the program as I don't need translators, but I'm FURIOUS how CNET EDITORS treat both shareware authors and US READERS!
Hi Alan,
What sort of review is this? Are you (EDITORS) here to heal your psychological problems by bashing useless software?
Or are you (EDITORS) here to provide US, YOUR READERS, with useful information?
If you're here to provide useful information, then PLEASE, write about useful software. We don't need your ******** about programs that you "do not recommend".
I used to be The Publisher or Editor in Chief of several magazines in the past 20 years, including some licensee editions from McGraw-Hill and IDG. I must say I'm appalled by recent editorial standards here. I would have expected this in some yellow papers but CNET... really, really sad. I wander what lies ahead.
Who are you people? "Editors"? "CNET staff"?
No name to sign the article?
No wander! It's a garbage, not a review!

Magazines that I skipped to mention would be McGraw-Hill Licensee, Byte Croatia, IDG Licensee ComputerWorld Croatia. I was appointed Publisher of both. And then there would be some that you would not know where I was Editor-in-Chief.
