Cryptomax CleanUSB for Windows

This program successfully cleans your USB storage devices, but we quickly grew tired of one of its cleaning options.

Cryptomax CleanUSB offers a boring but functional interface that walks you through the cleaning process. First, it asks you to connect your USB device. After we selected our device from a drop-down list, the program offered us the option of cleaning the free space or deleting all of the files. We first chose to clean the free space, and though it took a long time, it performed as promised. On our second run, we elected to delete all of the files. A warning immediately popped up telling us that deleting all of the files might render the device unusable and that it would be better to manually delete the files and clean the free space instead. There was no additional information provided to help users decide whether to risk the delete option. We were puzzled as to why they'd offer an option that was apparently so dangerous.

Cryptomax comes with an ample 30-day trial, and even though it successfully cleaned our USBs free space, we can't recommend a tool that offers an option then warns you against using it.
