Publisher's Description
From CodeWeavers:
CrossOver Mac allows you to install your favorite Windows applications and games on Mac OS X. CrossOver includes an easy to use, single click interface, which makes installing Windows software simple and fast. Once installed, your application integrates seamlessly in OS X. Just click and run your application directly from the OS X Finder. Clicking a Windows file or document - including email attachments - will launch the appropriate Windows program, allowing you to work on the files. Best of all, you do it all easily and affordably, without needing a Microsoft operating system license. Adding your favorite Windows software is easy, using their normal installation CDs. Just place a Windows CD in your Mac, and CrossOver will recognize it and offer to begin the installation process. CrossOver then completes the installation and configures your application to run on your Mac. That's all there is to it.
What's new in this version:
- Added a workaround for a bug in OS X 10.7 Lion. Many games running in a virtual desktop cause a crash. This can be resolved by setting the CX_LEAK_XPLUGIN_SURFACES environment variable.
- Work around a bug in OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. 10.6.8 generated corrupt icon files which caused occasional Finder crashes. Now we use a different API to generate icon files which bypasses the issue.
- Changed behavior of group permissions on certain files. Resolves an issue with .docx file... See all new features

"Does what is intended to do"
Version: CrossOver 10.2
Pros
Runs the small handful of Windows software I needed this for. It does what it is advertised to do.
Cons
Installation of applications is not always simple or user-friendly
Summary
This is not a full Windows implementation. It is a basic framework with on-demand bits of Windows needed to run the software listed (and a few more that are not listed). For those who download/purchase this thinking it is a replacement for a full install of Windows are not reading the description of the software. It is specifically for those who DO NOT need or desire a full Windows OS for those of us with limited Windows software needs.
Crossover Mac (I purchased the "Pro" version) fulfills all my needs. If I was a "gamer" or had a vast Windows-based library of software titles, then I wouldn't have bought Crossover - I would have a full Win install. It really blows my mind that people would mark this software down because it is NOT a full Windows implementation - this software does EXACTLY what it advertises and what is described. In my book, software that does exactly what the developer says it does (and the same-said developer keeps the software updated), then it gets 5 stars.
