Create customized cross-stitch patterns with this software, but it may be too complex if you're a novice user. Cross Stitch Professional offers a multitude of buttons and controls to add stitches, backgrounds patterns, and even your own photos to create a cross-stitch chart. You can print them complete with grid, backstitches, and page-number markings, but you can't save charts until you register the software. The program includes a wide range of thread colors and stitches. Cross Stitch Professional excels at creating charts with your photographs, creating a chart complete with color palette, and a thread calculator. Savvy users who love to do cross-stitching will appreciate the many options Cross Stitch Professional offers.Publisher's description
From DP Software :Cross Stitch Professional for Windows can be used for converting photographs and clipart into cross stitch charts. It can also be used to design charts starting with a blank sheet. Charts can be produced complete with colour key, simulation of stitched result and thread organiser cards. As well as the 3 versions for hand stitching, there are also 2 designed for digitising for machine. The digitising process is completely automatic once the cross stitch design is entered by drawing or scanning. The program features advanced tools such as layered objects, despeckling, smoothing, shape drawing etc. Image importing features sophisticated colour reduction and matching and is not a simple majority colour reduction. Manufacturers colour ranges have been measured accuratley using a spectrophotometer to ensure matching between screen colours and the finished stitched result. The Plus and Publisher versions include export capability including huge image export and PDF creation. Version 2.0.1 is Vista compatible, allows using CMYK colour values, features double precision petit-point layer, adds variagated thread display, stitch-by-stitch undo, custom stitch editor.

Pros: It's full of easy to use features that makes taking a photo or picture and making it into a beautiful cross stitch chart. They update the colors when more are added and I've always been able to get a response if I've had a question. I've had this program since it's first version. I've purchased other programs also but wish I hadn't wasted my money because I only use the Cross Stitch Pro. I've even made some money with it making my own charts to sell.
