Summary
I've used a lot of FTP Client programs and this one has settled in as my favorite now. I've been using Core FTP a long time, several years. Never have a problem with it. Love it.

"Does exactly what it needs to"

Pros
Free. Simple interface. Simple setup. Profile Backup. I've been using a version of this for several years without issue. I've even used it to ftp an entire website from one host to another (to save myself a couple of bucks in transfer fees).
Cons
None to speak of.
Summary
I switched to this ftp several years ago after running into a couple of issues with the client I had been using (leech ftp) and have never had an issue.

Can transfer complex folders with single click. Dependable.
Cons
GUI not great but after I'm used to it - no prob. Occasionally it will stop working on XP or Win7 .. i download again and all is well. I have not figured yet how to save and use the backup of sites config but don't really need it.
Summary
I don't need fancy. It works. It's well worth the price (free). I've occasionally been told or felt it was failing. Occasional reinstall (on top of the old) fixes all. I don't need another FTP.

"An excellent FTP Client"

Pros
In general, quite stable, thought was put into how it works and has all the options you would need.
It works well when you need to upload an entire directory structure with hundreds of files. Even if it is disconnected from the server or a file upload fails it will reconnect and continue. No need to babysit.
It shows exactly which and how many files are left to transfer.
It also lets you backup the sites you configured to a file so you can use it on other computers.Cons
I think that if while doing transfer you try to change a directory it will start transferring the files to the wrong place, so don't start moving around in the middle of a batch transfer. Besides that glitch i didn't find anything wanting.
Summary
I personally have been using this app for at least a year or two and have used many other FTP programs in the past and this is the best I've used.
Just wanted to add that it could definitely use a dose of some artistic taste, the buttons and interface is pretty ugly. But that should in no way stop you from using this excellent program.

I've used this program for years, once you take the time to learn how to set it up (took me all of 10 minutes), it's very simple to use.

Summary
What it looks like is pretty basic, but I don't need/want pretty or cool, I want functional, and this program does what it's supposed to do. Why someone would complain about looks of a program is beyond me. I would recommend this program to all. For being free, it is above the rest.

This program does all I need to maintain 3 web sites. Simple to us and understand. Uncluttered design.
Cons
FTP log ins can be difficult to set up the first time. I have four but Core FTP remembers them once set up. Icons to do tasks could be better.

If you need an FTP file transfer program look no farther!

This file transfer protocol is easy to use and the speed is stupendous. With automaticnotification of upgrades and file back up for sites, I haven't had any trouble in over two years.
Cons
Absolutely none.
Summary
I had a little trouble figuring out how to connect the first time -I use it to transfer pictures for the magazine articles that I write. Now I use it to load pictures on two other web sites too. Even a computer dummy can figure this one out!
