Collectibles Organizer Deluxe is a database program that allows users to keep track of the contents of collections of any sort. Although the program works fine, there are likely more sophisticated options to accomplish this task.
The program's interface looks very dated; it's reminiscent of Windows 95. Not surprisingly, it's not particularly intuitive, and in general its layout feels somewhat cluttered and clunky. To its credit, the program does open with a brief explanation of its features, allowing users to get started without too much trouble. Collectibles Organizer Deluxe offers five different database templates for users to choose from; Basic and Detailed (we couldn't tell the difference between these two), and templates to organize contacts, Web sites, and notes. The program makes it easy to rename fields within the templates, and a separate, included program called Designer allows users to edit templates and create new ones. The built-in Help file is well-written. There is nothing functionally wrong with Collectibles Organizer Deluxe, we're just not sure we see the point. The interface isn't pleasing to the modern eye, and there are many other database programs out there that could be used for the same purpose. Although the program includes templates specific to collectibles, they're really nothing special and could be easily duplicated elsewhere.
Collectibles Organizer Deluxe has a 30-day trial period. It installs desktop icons without asking and leaves a folder behind upon removal. We recommend this program with reservations; it's not bad, but there are likely much better alternatives.
