This application protects young kids by blocking pornographic material, though it isn't as surreptitious as implied. Child Protector Internet Filter Parental Control requires 12MB, but it's preloaded with a lengthy list of banned sites and keywords and you can add to them. When users try to gain entry onto a forbidden site, a mini pop-up window appears demanding your user-defined password, and the attempt is logged. Child Protector also blocks browsers, instant-messaging programs, and other applications. Its visually appealing interface logs screenshots and URLs, although it doesn't capture keyloggers, a staple in most monitoring tools. You can also clear a few tracks such as your temporary folder, cookies, and caches. Though we appreciate the effort, this program's stealth mode feature is anything but stealthy. Once minimized, it's plainly seen residing in the system tray, negating its hot-key access. Nevertheless, parents who don't mind their kid's awareness to its supervision can make use of this 21-day trial.

It blocks known offensive sites, and closes the forbidden page before it can be seen. Pages are blocked two ways Keyword filtering prevents any page from showing with offensive content. Secondly, the Web Site Black List is a list of over 500,000 sites banned by Child Protector. Child Protector can block the most common chat programs. Parental controls allow you to allow or block any site or keyword. Users can't uninstall, change settings, or close the program without the administrator password that you set. Automatic Internet updates are downloaded when our server releases new anti-porn keywords and black listed sites.

I should have read the reviews before I installed the software. Not only didn't it work well when it was installed, but I can't completely get this thing off of my computer. It tottally screwed everything up...

Ever since I loaded the trial and didn't not buy, I get a flash screen from Child Protector on each reboot. How do I get this off my computer completley. There is nothing in the Uninstall Programs Menu for Child Protector?

When trial ended I was asked for a registration key which was not provided at the time of download since there is no reg form to download this. A1tech has been horribly unresponsive and or helpful for 2 weeks now! They do not take phone calls and respond to email about every 72 hours!! I agree with the above reviewer. I am unable to fully unintall and continue to get error messages about missing components in the 10 seconds I get to view the screen before the software completely shuts down my computer!! Do not download this software!

the product seems professional at first

the product did not block my first test, 'porn' in google.com. it cannot uninstall itself fully, causing parts of the program, which still function, to send error messages to the user telling him to reinstall the missing files.
