CNET Editors' review
Capture .NET Free sounds like it might involve white-coated men carrying butterfly nets, but in fact it's a screen capture utility you'd be crazy not to try. That's just the beginning for this useful little toolkit, though. It also packs a calendar, analog clock, lunar phase display, and expandable ruler in its compact interface. There's a useful backup expert, too, as well as a file shredder, password and quick-launch tools, Post-it Notes, font manager, and still more, all in a portable freeware application that's only 716KB in size.
Capture .NET Free's interface is about the size of a credit card on the screen, with the clock face and calendar displayed on a draggable, semiopaque background that became opaque when we clicked on it. The analog clock face also displays the time digitally as well as the day and date. We could stretch out the ruler along the bottom of the program's interface as well as reduce it to just a slender ruler or restore the full interface with small buttons. We noticed numbers changing in the upper border as we moved the mouse; a plotter displayed our cursor's onscreen position on the X and Y axes. The calendar is the familiar scroll-through type, while clicking the date display above the analog clock face let us select day, month, or year. Hovering the cursor over the left edge produced more surprises in the form of a pop-up toolbar accessing a flexible screen-capture tool as well as a color sampler, a file converter, a wizardlike backup expert, an onscreen pencil, and a magnifier. Right-clicking the interface gave us access to more tools, including Post-it Notes, lunar phases, and an alarm clock, as well as the program's options like colors, skins, opacity, and which buttons and features to display. Although it's a portable application, we could also configure Capture.NET to run at start-up by selecting a profile path and choosing our start-up options. A system tray icon let us quickly access the program and its menu.
Capture .NET Free reminds us of those wallet gadgets that manage to pack a bunch of useful tools into the space of a credit card. Since it's free, it keeps your wallet bulky, too, and keeps its tools on your desktop where you need them.

"Simple and useful"
Version: Capture .NET Free 11.8.4652
Does what it says. No complicatons.
Other products do more.
I actually have a more complicated product that does more things, but for a simple capture, I always use this one.
"Love this program"
Version: Capture .NET Free 11.8.4620
Uses little disk space, Stays in background until called with a keystroke, replaces three other individual programs I previousely used.
For my purposes, no negativity.
"Multifunction program, very nice"
Version: Capture .NET Free 11.8.4620
Easy interface (after a little practice in using it)
It has a reminder, pencil, includes many helpful tools: capture screen, capture color, screen calendar, screen clock, screen ruler, backup expert, converter, countdown/up timer, degree measure, file shredder, font manager, lunar phases, post it, privacy eraser, quick launch and all they say it can do.
No cons at all
I have unzipper downloaded file with: "extract now portable". Zip genius can't unzip.
"Not Worth Your Time"
Version: Capture .NET Free 11.5.4332
This has got to be the most useless utility i have ever downloaded, the good thing was it was easy to uninstall, it left no empty files or junk in my registry, so that was a big pro
Everything but the ease to uninstall this worthless utility
I am surprised this program even made it on cnet downloads
Version: Capture .NET Free 11.0.4017
Works likes it's supposed to.
Good programitf you can figure it out
"it has so many functions !"
Version: Capture .NET Free 11.0.4009
Its a mighty fine program.. with a lot of possibillities.
Unfortunately..the one I wanted was the Calender with reminder and
i do not realy find that function ..well adjusted.
But i think its worths trying out
Still dont have that function --calender/reminder as I want it
Good program---lot of features
"its a funny little calender"
Version: Capture .NET Free 10.7.3824
That its so different... its choice of utillities...are hmm special
was practcall if it went to Startup right away.. was also, being a calender, practical ..to be able to make notes.
Its not that easy -to find ones way around
A little..funny little thing
"A lot of choices"
Version: Capture .NET Free 7.0.3666
In hole --I like it: . I has thing that i really do not need but its so small that i dos not matter.
Not all functions seems practical to me.- but they are there.
Has some flaws....... The notes for the dates -are strange to work with.
And seems like netframe has taken a disliking to it. Makes startup faileurs because of the program
Its a bit unpractical in the way of handling- but still a nice little program
"a practicall one"
Version: Capture .NET Free 7.0.3656
I have not tried everything out- but I like its small calender; which hide when you use other stuff. It has shut down and such functions.
Hm I think its not to easy to work with, when You ask for functions- like make notes and shutting down.
All in all a good programm
"Fun -many functions"
Version: Capture .NET Free 6.8.3396
Its free it has many functions
To many of the functions--are in other programs.
So the quesstion: Dos the few You dont have,
make the program worth keeping
good and manysitet program
