Publisher's description of CanCopy
From CanCopy:Have you ever tried copying files on your computer and been told that The filename you specified is invalid or too long. Specify a different filename? If you have, you know that you cant perform a backup of your files, as Windows will cancel the process at the point of the problem, leaving you wondering what was copied, and what was not. The problem is caused by Windows (98, 2000, XP & Vista) not allowing file paths of more that 231 characters. It's a time consuming problem for us to fix, if indeed, we can fix it at all. CanCopy solves this problem and allows files with long paths to be copied.

Version: CanCopy 1.2.1
"A dream came true. A must for everybody who needs to copy long file/path names"
Pros: This piece of software is fantastic. It does what the Microsoft OS, shoud have done in the first place - allows you to copy long path names. Have you ever tried to copy a directory to another hard disk and the copy process stopped right in the middle, after 1-2 hours of copying, and you have no idea where the copy process was interrupted. This piece of software is addressing this issue. I love it !
Cons: Will come back on this after a couple of more week of testing - so far all is fine

"Dont pay: you will never get valid activation code."
Pros: None, just don't buy it.
Cons: Plain crookery.
Summary: it's plain crookery, how is it possible that cnet recommends such a product!!

Version: CanCopy 1.2.1
"ADVERTIZED AS "NO LIMITATIONS" - FALSE !!!"
Pros: I GIVE NO 'PRO'S WHEN I AM LIED TO.
DOWNLOAD.COM SHOULD NOT ADVERTIZE THIS AS "NO LIMITATIONS' AND CAUSE PEOPLE AGGRAVATION WHEN THEY FIND OUT THE TRUTH AFTER HAVING WASTED THIER TIME ON ITCons: IT IS NOT "NO LIMITATIONS", BUT LIMITED, AND A TRIAL VERSION AT THAT.
Summary: DOWNLOAD.COM IS ONCE AGAIN DOING THINGS FAST, SLOPPY, AND GIVING FALSE INFORMATION.
THIS IS HAPPENING FAR TOO OFTEN. -
Version: CanCopy 1.2.1
"Trial software didn't work. I paid but no response."
Pros: The trial version scanned my directories and files, but didn't copy anything.
Cons: Did not work on Windows XP SP3 with current Java version installed. I paid for the activation code and never received it.
Summary: Software did not work. I paid for the activation code and never received it.
