  very efficient, tiny program, doesnt need to install, just run the exe.

  Cons

  its a little flaky sometimes.. if u press atl+c and get the history list and decide not to use it, sometimes the list wont go away.. also sometime you need to paste twice to get it to work right.. no bigee

  Pros

  Easy install...just two exe-files. Very fast and haven't let me down once. I really like the template that let me save text snippets I frequently use.

  I would have preferred some documentation, but it is not needed.

  Summary

  I have tested a lot of the same kind of tools/products during the years. This is by far the best I have come across, and it is totally free of charge...impressive. You are even able to download the source code. I highly recommend this software. It's one of the tools I always installs first on a new PC (along with Multi Commander that also is a favorite.

  Inadequate documentation. It will take time to plumb all its features, especially the plugins.

  Summary

  Development seems to have stalled. Too bad. This thing is a honey and would be worth further work. I wish I knew how to write plugins for it myself.

• For Over Three Years ~

  Pros

  For over three years I have been using CLCL and in that period of time there has not been a one change to the program. This suggests the shape of an egg, cannot be improved upon without changing the quality.

  Cons

  The .dll's are a little tricky, however, there is help on line for those who need it. It is worth every bit of your time to get help because you will not regret it. It is a fantastic program.

  Summary

  I have tried many clipboard extender programs over the years. Some have been good, some not so good, but CLCL is the best. It is not written in a lot of bloated, unnecessary code, just the basics. The thing that attracts me to CLCL is the quality of reproduction, i.e., what you save you get back without any distortion. Text is clear and crisp, images a re pure and clear and that cannot be said for many clipboard extenders. The fact the data has to be copied to the clipboard before being used can be bothersome in some instances. I use IrfanView for images, so it make it easy. Text goes to the default Notepad where it can be sent to whatever word processor I choose. Nice and tidy. In this, "Hand me everything and make it simple" society we live in CLCL may seem a little backward. But, just check the others, use them a while and I am sure you will love CLCL. I run it continually, slipped the desktop icon into the program start folder and it starts with Windows. Piece of cake and the program works flawlessly day in and day out.

  Pros

  If you're just a button pusher who doesn't like like to customize your software setup this may not be for you, but if you don't mind a minimal amount of tweaking you will be thoroughly satisfied with this program.<p>It can even be used as a portable app.

  The main advantage is the free availability. It is very useful for me and save time. I don't need to search for smth I've copied before, just Alt+V and I can select what I want.

  I'll say right off that this program isn't for novice PC users. But if you're a little more experienced and don't mind spending a few extra minutes experimenting and setting it up, you'll probably find this to be a great little utility. I can say without reservation that it's the best freeware clipboard manager I've come across (and I've looked at quite a few). It has all the basic features, plus a few extras, it isn't a resource hog, and it's inconspicuous. <p> <p>To get the most out of CLCL, I highly recommend that you download the extra plugins from the developers's website right after you get the program. <p> <p>Again, this isn't something novice users will likely be comfortable with, but intermediate-to-advanced users will see the benefits right away.

  Cons

  The documentation could be improved (in fact, there really isn't any). That's the only minus though. The program is perfect otherwise, at least for my needs.

  Pros

  It works, it's small, it's stable, it's free!! I used to be a Clipmate user ... 5years+ I imagine. As it was not a free program I'd be violating licence agreements if I used it at the office. I searched for a free one, found & downloaded CLCL v1.1.0 which I've been using for around 2years now without problems. (Even at home now) <p>I love the fact that a simple alt-c brings up my captures and I select what I need quickly and easily. No uninstall is great as its just a matter of deleting the files if you decide its not for you. (I'm just about to install the newer version and felt this product deserved a review)

  Cons

  It's limited if you compare it to some of the other clipboard utilities. But is that a bad thing... all depends what you're after I suppose.

  Pros

  I've tried lots of clipboard managers before.. but they've all failed me.. CLCL is the only one that worked for me. It's very customizeable.. I don't think I can emphasize that enough. It can manage both images and text without a problem (for me anyways.) Small bits of text can be recalled hours ago without any character corruption. That goes for images as well. <p> <p> <p> <p>You can also choose to not clear any data when shutting down your computer so even after restartting.. you still have your old clipboard data. <p> <p>There are keyboard shortcuts as well.. you can define keys to pop up the clipboard list or the viewer window itself. <p> <p>You can also download plug-ins from the publisher's site for more handy tools like: converting between lower and uppercase, adding tags before and after your text, and a couple more. <p> <p>You can store entires that you use on a frequent basis as a template that you can keep referring to and you can also organize it into folders.

  Cons

  It IS a little tricky to get at first.. but once you understand it.. you'll learn that there's a ton this program has to offer.
