Publisher's Description
From Recovery ToolBox:
CD Recovery Toolbox Free was developed for recovering damaged files CD, DVD, HD DVD, Blu-Ray and etc disks. You can use it to restore information lost as a result of some mechanical damage of the disk (scratches, chips, different spots on the surface) or as a result of incorrect recording. Program can recover data that was considered lost. Tool scans any CD and DVD disks and finds files and folders located there. We should mention that there can be some information on the disk that cannot be recovered. Not all of the files and folders can be found - that depends on the degree and location of the damage. Therefore, tool finds the possible maximum amount of information. After that, it shows a list of all files and folders available for recovery. Now the user can select the files and folders to be recovered. Those specific objects will be recovered while the others will be ignored. The program recovers the maximum amount of information in the damaged file. This reduces the risk of data loss considerably. Program features: - Recovering information from any CD and DVD disks - Recovering files larger than 4 Gb - Detecting possible lack of free space on the hard disk for storing the recovered files Tool not only has a complete set of data recovery features, but is also user-friendly and convenient. The program interface is designed as a step-by step wizard, where the user has to perform a single action on each page of the wizard. The wizard makes the use of the tool very simple and convenient even for a beginner. As for the fact that practically every PC user needs a tool for recovering information from CD and DVD disks, there is no doubt about it. As you know, these storage media are the most widely spread nowadays. They are rather capacious, all-purpose, durable and, what's important, inexpensive. The problem is - they aren't very reliable.

"A great program that I recommend to everyone!"
Version: CD Recovery Toolbox Free 1.1.17
Pros
A great program that everyone needs to download, because you never know when you will need it.
Cons
It did work it's magic rather slowly, but I'm still satisfied.
Summary
I just used it for the very first time on a "coaster" (DVD-R) I just burned. I still have all the pics on my hard drive, but I decided to give this program a try. It worked very good. Out of 1,755 pics, it couldn't fully recover 6 of them. It did recover parts of them and most of 1, except for a thin gray line at the bottom of it. This is a great program that I recommend to everyone! :-) Come on and give it a try. What do you have to lose? Thanks Recovery ToolBox for a great program and thanks CNET. :-)

"Great Tool Does What it says!"
Version: CD Recovery Toolbox Free 1.1.17
Pros
Easy even for beginners. Pulls from all disk types.
Cons
I have not found one yet.
Summary
This tool was a real lifesaver. Got a virus and lost a lot of my biz files during repair. Had them on disks but they were old and in bad shape. This tool was able to pull ALL my files from ALL the disks which included cdr, cdrw, dvd, dvdrw, and some were old disks that I had no idea what they were.
I would advice anyone who keeps files on disk to grab this tool just in case. It even gives you a report of every file pulled and you can save them anywhere you choose! -

"Works great, simple program"
Version: CD Recovery Toolbox Free 1.1.17
Pros
Was able to recover pictures from an old CD that was damaged, and had holes all the way through the silver. This is a simple program with very straightforward interface.
Cons
CNET adds a bunch of crapware to the install, be carefull to uncheck these. Also the images had streaks through them (guessing the data it could not recover?)
Summary
Might just get that data from a bad CD/DVD that you thought was gone. Our pictures did not recover perfect, but close enough we can fix them. Worth a try!

"I joined C-net just so I could write this review."
Version: CD Recovery Toolbox Free 1.1.17
Pros
Easy installation. Operation was very simple and straight forward. It saved a CD I had been trying to rescue for FIVE YEARS. This program did the job in about 20 minutes.(It saved a zip file that had a corrupted format.) The best rescue program ever.
Cons
There is absolutely nothing to dislike.
Summary
I seriously doubt you could find any program for any amount of money that is this effective, and yet so simple to use. As a computer program, it is a close second to the best computer program ever, X-TREE GOLD.
