Can take some time to effectively scan your system. Reports are browser based but you do not need to be connected to the internet to receive the reports so that is a plus.

Summary
This is one of the most useful programs I have ever encountered. I run Belarc every 3 months or so and print the results so that I have a current profile of my computer. It has saved me more than once when I have had to format a hard drive.

Pros
I displays all OEM keys that are present on the system. It even displayed keys I had no idea existed! As an IT project manager, I would highly recommend this app for IT professionals that need to capture needed system data.

Pros
Gives a detailed listing of all downloaded programs, update history, missing patches and updates, and the condition of your computer as far as virus vulnerabilities.
Cons
The Windows security update Belarc said I needed was not applicable and would not download. The message I received was "this program is not needed for your computer."
Summary
As far as I'm concerned the jury is still out. The Updated pages from the manufacturers and Microsoft do a better job of scanning programs for out of date versions.

Presents a very complete picture of your computer. Using on 4 different computers- 3 Windows versions- and it details each and shows what might be missing.

It does take a long time to load and gather info.

Very organized. Complete with explanations of what is OK, what is not so OK and generally how to make fixes.
Cons
I think this formal analysis is more directed to a commercial business user and many comments and "fixes" may not be applicable to a casual residential user.
Perhaps the specific areas that a Casual user should address could be emphasized in the analysis output?
