A remake of the classic Battleship board game, BattleFleet Pacific War has complex strategy features that help make it a lot of fun. The tutorial, a welcome addition, briefly explains major differences between the video game and the board game. Although the primitive graphics do not thrill us, we think the photographs of World War II are a nice touch. The game's primary goal is to destroy all enemy ships and seize control of their ports while protecting your own territory. Unlike the old-school board game, you can use the radar to detect enemy units.BattleFleet Pacific War also offers a wide variety of ships, submarines, airplanes, and port artillery you can purchase. The game includes both simple duels and missions in which you must accomplish specified objectives in a certain number of turns. However, the trial version disables the military-campaign option, and you can't play the game in a separate window. We recommend BattleFleet Pacific War to all lovers of strategy games, as well as to military and history buffs.
