Its front-line defenses are only for a small number of programs, but this program effectively launches certain applications on your system in safe mode. Amust 1-Defender quickly shifts Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express and Windows Messenger into safe mode to protect your PC from malware. Its trendy interface runs a scan bar to pass the time as it shifts its protection on. A small green shield was placed alongside IE's logo on the title bar to let us know it was working.
We were glad that, as we surfed, we noticed no slowdowns. Any downloads are subject to a quick scan. No problems were revealed during our testing here either. You'll be able to easily bypass Amust 1-Defender's safe mode shifters by holding down a hot key while clicking a link, opening the page in standard unsecured mode.
While we like its noninvasive approach to protecting our system, this software's coverage is minimal. Free to all, its quick-change protection works great, but most folks will want more comprehensive protection.

Version: Amust 1-Defender 2
"excellent first line of defense against the nasties"
Pros: small program that basically starts internet explorer, outlook and windows messenger in least privileged user account mode which makes it more difficult for malware to attack and do damage as explained in the article written by jenni merrifield at microsoft technet (microsoft.com/technet...) i would view as a first line of defense, running these programs in non-administrator mode. i noticed no difference in surfing but may need to override or use ie without it when downloading something that needs administrator's approval; it will leave old ie icon alone on desktop and place another icon with amust symbol on desktop so you have a choice on how to start.
Cons: requires ie to be default browser and only works with above numerated microsoft programs; installed and works fine with ie7 on one computer but does not work on another, causing microsoft office outlook 2003 to freeze and ie to close after opening due to error-i suspect those problems are tied to spyware doctor being on that computer which has also experienced problems with winpatrol and a failure to install ie 7 which i attribute, more likely than not, as a problem with spy doctor rather than those programs-all work fine in peace and harmony with microsoft defender and spy sweeper on another computer. if problem is due to amust, i would take it down a *.

"Great utility, I wouldn't be without it"
Pros: A software that I have been looking for a long time now - it's protecting both IE and Outlook.
