"Crashes With Standard Definition Video. BAD product."

    October 30, 2011   |   By unc2000

Version: Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Adobe Premiere Elements 8 Bundle 8

    Pros

Do I really have to fill out this section? There's nothing to say.

    Cons

-It crashed on a Quad-Core computer with just 20 pictures in a video (each about 5MP)
-It takes about 5 minutes to save a project that is 1 minute long
-The encoding process gave me a blue screen
-Unless you turn off auto-analyzer, it uses over 90% of your CPU
-The good video effects you have to pay extra for
-It takes an extremely long time to load files into the program.

The list goes on-just look at the features on the box. Each does the opposite of what you want it to do.

    Summary

DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE! IT CRASHES ON ANY COMPUTER!!!

Usually, I trust Adobe. Now, I use Pinnacle-at least it Autosaves right before it crashes.

If you want to waste money, this is for you. Otherwise, find something else.

    "Another lousy video editing program"

    July 27, 2010   |   By raebolduc

Version: Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Adobe Premiere Elements 8 Bundle 8

    Pros

liked that it imported VOB files directly

    Cons

program is slow, crashes frequently, hangs and nothing appears to be happening.

    Summary

Wasted 12 hours on one project and still have nothing to show for it.. Garbage! Almost as bad as the software that came with my Canon camera.

"Hmm... 20% good the rest useless"

    June 10, 2010   |   By sourjerer

Version: Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Adobe Premiere Elements 8 Bundle 8

    Pros

    Over-all a very simple program

    Cons

    Slow
    Frequently Crashes
    Few to None Tech support
    ohh.. did I mention slow..

    Summary

a far from a good program.. some say it runs ok on a windows 7 64bit machine.. but im not that convinced of that notion..... I have windows xp service pck 3 running on a quad core phenom 2, 2gb of ddr2 ram, a hd 4830 graphics card... but still it runs unreasonably slow.. xD... im soon upgrading to 7prof 64 bit.... lets see what will happen... but i'm completely disappointed with ADOBE.. it had earned the trust of consumers and profs through its premium suites, and now this..... tsk...

    "What has Adobe done?"

    May 27, 2010   |   By hmusr

Version: Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Adobe Premiere Elements 8 Bundle 8

    Pros

    NOTHING!!!

    Cons

    Absolutely horrible.

    Summary

Absolutely horrible. I have always been a huge fan of Photoshop, Elements and Premiere. I upgraded to Premier 8 from 3. Incredibly slow and stops responding when attempting even the most basic edits. Lucky for me I did not uninstall Premiere 3 which still works fine. I have scoured the Net and tried every suggestion to make this worthless piece of software work. Now, I have a nice box with a small useless frisbee inside. Maybe I can get a refund? I think not. I would like to meet the people who are able to use this waste of code sucessfuly. I'm assuming they are using a government owned super computer since this apparently was not designed for a current home pc. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME.

"Works great for me. Win 7 x64 pro"

    April 11, 2010   |   By jamrut12

Version: Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Adobe Premiere Elements 8 Bundle 8

    Pros

Tons of features, Pretty intuitive for me, at least the basic features are.

    Cons

does use a lot of resources but I use it for 720 p to 1080p videos.

    Summary

This has a lot of bad reviews. I mostly use premiere so far to do video editing from my canon. The camera is great but canon doesn't bundle working software apparently. This is a great working product for me. I haven't had trouble. Owned and used for about 2 months. Used it to make dvd's , video to keep on file, and videos for an ipod. No problems yet. I have a dual core intel @2.53 ghz and a 50 dollar ati 4000 something. Canon HF S20 video camera.

    Updated on Apr 11, 2010

oh gave it a 4 because I don't have much recent experience with other video editing suits besides movie maker and some program I used a little bit about 8 years ago. It is better than others I have used.

    "Just unbelievably horrible"

    April 09, 2010   |   By billeaudca

Version: Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Adobe Premiere Elements 8 Bundle 8

    Pros

I have been trying to use it on Windows 7 for a few months. It has been a terrible experience.

    Cons

Crashes my computer every time I open this program. Sync doesn't work, and when it does, I get duplicate copies of pictures (exactly what you are trying to avoid when you sync).

    Make it stop.

"Do NOT Make this Mistake- just plain horrible"

    March 29, 2010   |   By slochi

Version: Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Adobe Premiere Elements 8 Bundle 8

    Pros

There just aren't any. I am sorry I have to give it one star to get this review on line. It deserves none.

    Cons

Download doesn't work properly on windows 7. Program crashes & stalls. The most amazingly slow program ever. Horrible. It takes forever to do something as simple as delete a photo - you can imagine the speed of everything else.

    Summary

Adobe should be ashamed. This program is horrible. I'm a long time elements user and am just astounded at how poor the program is AND the poor support.

Adobe may be proud of it's "Plus" addition but it can count me in the Minus Column as a customer.

"A shame it can get one star"

    March 19, 2010   |   By cllowrey

Version: Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Adobe Premiere Elements 8 Bundle 8

    Pros

Adobe name - thought it would be quality

    Cons

    1. Forever to load anything.
    2. Freezed in many different functions requiring restart.
    3. Not able to complete a single photo edit yet. 2 weeks of trying

    Summary

Dog of a program, real disappointment since Adobe's products are some the primary commercial products. I guess they don't care about making a consumer grade product, not enough money in it for them ?

    "Crashes frequently, bloated, non-intuitive"

    March 08, 2010   |   By southriding

Version: Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Adobe Premiere Elements 8 Bundle 8

    Pros

    Right now. NONE.

    Cons

Crashes frequently in Windows 7. Painfully slow when does work. Non-intuitive. Older versions much better--had been long-time user of this program. Used to rave about it to others. No more.

    Summary

I could not recommend this program to anyone. This program used to be good, but it is now bloated, buggy, painfully slow. Takes forever to load even in a new state-of-the-art consumer computer. Extremely frustrated. Will be looking elsewhere. Reviews of program by pros don't reflect Windows 7 users, which this supposedly was designed for.
