"Much more easier to use."
Version: Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5
Pros
- Syntax High Lighting
- Easily draw the tables
- You have design mode as well as code mode so you can easily edit wherever you want
- You don't have to have strong HTML knowledge (for example if you draw a table in design mode it can automatically write a code in code mode)
- Minimal time take compare to notepad..
- Main thing is reference for many languages such as Java Script, ASP, PHP.Cons
- Notepad is light weight compared to Dreamweaver
- Your coding skills may have loosen here because if are you working in notepad means you must have good sound knowledge of HTML.Summary
Dreamweaver makes it much easier to get your wallet into your pocket.

"This program is a RIP OFF"
Version: Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5
Pros
Used to be made by Macromedia
Cons
Now made by Adobe. You spend $400 on a program, but you need additional "extensions" in order to achieve the smallest tasks. No built in shopping cart (that is an additional $199.99). In order to make a date picker, you guessed it extra cash. This program cannot stand on its own two feet without the help and additional funds of these extensions. Not worth the total cost to have a one stop shop for an html editor. After all said and done you mine as well go get a degree in web design. It would save you money.
Summary
Will never go Adobe again. Many other programs to choose from that cost a lot less and do not over promise and under deliver

"Very disappointed"
Version: Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5
Pros
Haven't found any, maybe it has a few more bells and whistles but doesn't help when it keeps locking up. If I find some I will repost.
Cons
$$$$$$$, hangs up all the time, remote server connection drops constantly, not very user friendly, there is so much more , too much to list
Summary
Just switched from Macromedia Dreamweaver 4, which I will keep because it works. It took some time to figure it out but never had the problems I am having with Adobe Dreamweaver CS5. I finally decided after all these years to update my program and am sad to say I am so disappointed with the new program. And when I first opened it up I thought there would be so much more to it. Just a different layout and much more confusion all around. I can't even change the font without manually typing the html myself. I can type it up faster and I don't type very fast. And it keeps changing my image folders, and the only way I know it is to view my live page and see that all my images are just blank spaces on the page. I have over 200 pages on one of my sites, it will take me forever to check every page. This program was purchased with the intentions that it would save me time but ends up being the total opposite. Just very frustrating, especially after forking out $400 for the stinking program. If I get back to it and find something else about the program, hopefully positive, I will definitely repost.

"Unforgivably buggy"
Version: Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5
Pros
Adds some new features that will be useful if you have a highly routinized, automated workflow; otherwise, nothing much new.
Cons
Unusable for text editing in design mode due to inaccurate display of cursor position. Significantly poorer usability than CS3 due to removing obvious panel-status indicators and replacing with a double-click-tab interaction.
Summary
No improvement for most users. Don't upgrade unless you have a very specific need to do so (e.g., client requirement -- our case -- or you are using highly automated workflows).

"Adobe is screwing it up !"
Version: Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5
Pros
Some great new features
Cons
Poor documentation.
Summary
I had Macromedia Dreamweaver and switched to CS3. Before I could get past the bugs, CS4 was out and now CS5. Slow down and make it work BEFORE you release another version. OR, release bug fixes for your previous versions without simply cutting people off.

"Best of breed"
Version: Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5
Pros
Not just WYSWYG, it's a site management program. Share update tasks with templates, Build, validate and test offline. Works with BBEdit for power search & replace. Has code, split, & design views plus quick check in selected browsers. Lots to love.
Cons
Expensive. Learning curve. Won't get CS5 until I can upgrade computer to 2011 model. Helps idiots (like me occasionally) do horrible things to the HTML.
Summary
All around productivity tool; saves time at every stage of development. Especially handy when I must let others add content to the site; templates keep them constrained to their edit boxes. Allows me to check and validate files in the desktop site before uploads. Saves time.

"Bloated yet needed by best web designers & pro newbies"
Version: Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5
Pros
Any complex job can be done, and - contrary to some popular believes - it does not take that long to build sites once it's mastered
Cons
It really is bloated. Not only it's huge but they haven't included a proper learner's/light mode which means some get discouraged. In addition to its big size and complexity, no major issues with the later CS5 version.
Summary
Two subpages of our website (http://www.BestWebDesigners.us) were mainly build with Dreamweaver, one with EZGenerator, one with Fireworks and one with Artisteer, mainly so we can point the sections to our clients. Nevertheless, read the cnet and softpedia reviews first and also consider open source apps and good old website builders - as these rull the world of fast web development. However, if you want quality and have a month to spare, go for DW.
Overall, Dreamweaver CS5 (post-Oct 2010 version) is a great tool if you have the time to learn it. Otherwise, stick with what you have or use simple yet increasingly sophisticated site builders like X5. -
"Bloody Awfull"
Version: Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5
Pros
If I could give this product a 0 I would.
Cons
Designed by trolls in a cave.
Summary
Not intuitive to humans.

"Great software I couldn't live without it!"
Version: Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5
Pros
A really simple website builder it takes a bit to learn it, I took an online course in it so I may have an easier time than others. I built my web site with it and I'm a graphic designer with little knowledge of code. http://michaelpaulhus.com
Cons
It is a bit clunky and not user friendly to those with no knowledge of prior CS versions

Though if you have no prior experience with older CS versions I would expect to spend a lot of time reading and watching tutrorials. -
