Oh, sweet, sweet Adblock. We loved you in Firefox, and Adblock for Chrome is just as wonderful. Who knew that one little browser add-on could make surfing the Internet so much more enjoyable?
Adblock does exactly what its name implies: it blocks ads. Pretty much all of them. Banner ads? Yes. Those crazy annoying Flash ads that seem to be popping up everywhere? You bet. Facebook ads, Google ads, pop-up ads? Check, check, and check. Using the Internet with Adblock is oddly peaceful; all you see is the content you're looking for, and not all the distracting clutter that we've grown accustomed to. A small notification in the bottom right corner of the screen lets you know when a pop-up has been blocked, and you can choose to have Adblock stop blocking pop-ups from individual sites if desired. Using Adblock also results in the practical advantage of faster page loads, which is always a plus. This extension offers plenty of options for customization, allowing users to specify domains for which they don't want ads blocked, select specific filters, and submit ads that Adblock missed. Like most browser add-ons, Adblock doesn't have a Help file, but it's pretty straightforward. We found Adblock to be very effective and easy to use, and we highly recommend it to anyone seeking a smoother, less cluttered Web-browsing experience.

"Absolutely superb"

Pros
Blocks almost every ad that shows up automatically.
Allows me to permanently edit out ads that slipped through the net.
Has a super-easy interface.Cons
Basically none, although there was a slight problem with the interface at first, because there's no help file. However, the entire thing is rather self-explanatory, and I got the hang of it really quickly.
Summary
AdBlock Plus is an extremely helpful program that blocks all of those annoying popup ads. I can recommend it to anyone with no reservations whatsoever, as I makes life on the Web a lot easier.

It makes browsing a whole lot more pleasant.

Funnily enough, the advertising. It presents you with a nag screen upon installation asking you to donate money (and also has a link within the popup menu saying "Did you know I do this for a full time job?").
In terms of deployment, this is a mess. Depending on your context (for me, it's school children), this could possibly be a real problem. Do you really want your users to be presented with a screen asking for them to pay money?Summary
For personal use, this extension rocks the party that rocks the party. For large deployments, it's a bummer that it's own advertising makes it unsuitable.

Very comprehensive; just install it; select your filter subscriptions; enable it; forget it. AB will take care of the rest automatically. Filters better than other similar products.

"Great little ad blocker"

Pros
only downloaded adblocker for chrome today & its blocked the ads on facebook, 3player, rte player & youtube so im really impressed so far. I havent noticed any speed loss on my net & you can have the icon sitting on your browser so its easily disabled when needed.
Cons
only cons i have found which isnt really a problem was when I went onto car zone or auto-trader I couldn't see the car photos & the site went jus more or less to text but it was easily solved by disabling it while i used them sort of sites.

All in all a great little program which does exactly what it says...

Absolutely nothing - unless you don't like peaceful surfing. (The other con is: there's nothing to black out ads & mute the volume on my t.v. That would make me super happy.)

Got this because I had a teddy bear walk across my computer screen between the glass of the monitor and the website I was trying to read & he spray painted TED on the 'glass window' I was looking through.... apparently this is a Flash ad for a movie. I was fed up with ads hijacking my computer enjoyement. I got AdBlock & instantly all of the flashing lights in multicolors, grotesque computer generated images, ads taking over my window, & any other headache producing 'click on me' attention grabber was GONE. When you sign out of FB there's always an ad - it's gone now too - just a blank area where it used to be.
