Very good running to do list. Good for people that run there lives from a list (as me).
Pro version is much to expensive for the features. It would be comparable to most $39.95 programs.
I haven't purchased, but am seriously considering, the price is the only obstacle.

I have been using Above & Beyond for close to 20 years, and am still running version 2000 because it meets my needs. I love the dyanamic scheduling with item prioritization, the recurring items, and - well, all the pros I listed. This is what keeps my head above water while trying to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, 'remember' to perform tasks - and how to do so - that only occur once per year (such as annual report filings, year-end close-out, etc.), and have a historical record of meeting dates/times, tasks performed, and so on that is searchable and can be kept indefinitely. Just yesterday I researched a project dating back to June 1994 that was documented in my A&B. I use the project reporting feature to analyze, and report to management, the time invested in various projects and tasks. I highly recommend this PIM but you have to spend a little time learning how to use the various features. Well worth the price.

Dynamic scheduling is okay but not that great.
It is just a floating to-do list. When using on Vista it kept putting items in wrong order or on wrong days. Transferring between Vista laptop and Win XP desktop caused more problems.
After using A&B for a number of years, I had a problem. The email only tech support, apparently a one man show, was slow to reply (took 3 tries on my part). and then the suggestions made did not help.The owner finally found my registration for A&B 2004 and I decided to keep A&B2010 and shell out the $69.95 for the upgrade. I still use it as a scheduler for routine tasks and I sometimes put my Achieve project tasks in to A&B. A&B has a lot of good features, which is why I have used it off and on for years.
Then I started getting a "Trial Is Up" message and an annoying interruption every few minutes telling me to buy a license. And this was after using the 2007 version 2 or 3 times a week for 3 years. Owner could not find my registration in his records and told me the trial period was *very generous" and could have lasted that long. So I would have to buy a new license. I tried Achieve and found it much more to my liking. A&B is not worth the price in my opinion.

Easy to use, good for recurring tasks
I've tried re-installing program several times. Program bombs after you add new items & try to close. No other version available from web site--they direct you to download.com. Cannot purchase a separate disk version...This is really too bad

Simple, intuitive, flexible... an all-round great product. Easy to track time spent on different projects and produce reports for client billing. Flexible floating task list, recurring tasks, alarms... everything you could want.
Palm integration is a bit clunky and doesn't work well; interface is looking a bit dated now; but these are minor points in an otherwise excellent product.

Nothing to say about it.
Although it installed successfully on my W2K box it fails to start everytime without any error message. Also the uninstall process didn't work, saying that the Uninst.isu is invalid.

This product will drive you to do more. The calendar and the to-do list are one. Almost everything is timer-driven and will fit floating items into time spaces according to priorities you have set. While you CAN use it as a "todo list" it is dynamic and well suited to someone who is sitting at a desk and constantly updating and assigning tasks to a variety of people. It can be networked and has some simple project management capabilities (it isn't MS Project but would help you prioritize your part in a given project)
The learning curve is not steep but is a bit longer than less effective PIMs. The registration is a bit pricey but it will save you that money in the long run

I don't know how I would function without this program. I've tried others but they are useless compared to this. Extremely flexible and innovative approach to time managment. Once you master the one hour learning curve, you will see how useful this is. This is the best time managment software on the planet and always will be.
