"Fast & easy video clips cleaner"
Version: AVS Video ReMaker 3.1.2.102
Pros
Auto-detection of scenes (trimmer), wide codecs support, slim GUI, flexible timeline with thumbs-guidance (+zooming), fast results production with 100% quality (no re-encoding), projects save, snapshot at will, capture-screen & record options
Cons
keyboard shortcuts not able to re-assign (& somewhat confusing with keyframes, chapters, etc), no main options GUI,
Summary
For the home user that wants to clear clips fast (without re-encoding) & have a whole-visual view on the clip (thumbs timeline), this is the ideal product! Having the advantages of a professional video trimmer (but only for its job), it consists a mut buy!

"this sounded like just what I needed"
Version: AVS Video ReMaker 2.3.1
Pros
it says it will do very thing that I wanted. I converted dvr-ms file to mpeg2 part of the complete download. very easy
Cons
I use the whole kit and converted dvr-ms file to mpeg2 and then use AVS Video remaker (a part of the whole program) to cut the advertisings out of a football game But the video breaks up all over the place after it is done. I have not found out why. It pretty much wrecks the game
so we are still looking for one that really works
