could not really say, Windows media player is for the birds so I uninstalled every component connected with it except the player itself, but I changed the default player to WinAmp and sent the other to recycle bin
like udders on a boar hog---totally worthless!!!!

I unloaded it without trying since I downloaded Media Player 9 for Xp and it crashed my system, and since I,m a determined little cuss, I did it again and System Restore could not touch the glitch that one caused. I had to get a GateWay Tech to spend hours on the phone with me, and it messed up sound system, modems, configuration and we are still resolving issues.
