File Renamer for Mac is a batch renaming software. Powerful yet simple and easy to use interface with built in preview to see new names before you rename. You can also undo renaming. This makes batch renaming extremely easy and you can rename thousands of files in a few clicks only in seconds. Extremely useful to rename photos using date/time picture taken and other EXIF & IPTC descriptions. Also rename MP3 files using ID3 tag information like artist, album, year, title, composer, Genre, Track number etc. You can also use External File list created in Text or Excel file to rename files.

Pros : (As other people already said) : - Simple interface : it takes only a few time to understand how it works. Handy to use (and almost fun to see all these files magically changed, in a breeze). - Can ReName thousands of files at the same time. - Can ReName files from included SubFolders (a very useful function, which is missing from Lupas ReName). - Can ReName Files Extensions. - Can use MP3 and EXIF Tags. - Can handle non-ANSI Characters (a useful function, which is missing from Lupas ReName). - Drag-and-Drop function (optional, but useful function, also missing from Lupas ReName). - Advanced Undo function, using log files ; this enable you to reverse even old renaming operations (providing you didn't move your files to another location). - Does almost (but not all) every other thing you need a ReNamer to do. - Works perfectly well. - Fast / Speedy = Big Time Saver. - in two words : very useful ! - As a bonus, purchase procedure is easy, fast, and secure. Cons : - For me, Lupas ReName as a better User Interface, because in Lupas you can do several ReNaming operations at the same time, manually or by using ReNaming Scripts. But anyway, Lupas ReName is only available for Windows PC... - Also, the Case Sensitive function on Winsome File ReNamer does not seems to work completely as I would expect. If, for example, you want to change from " At " to " at ", you cannot do it in a single move. Consequently, if you just want to change the case of a word or expression (for example : from " On " to " on " ; or from " In The " to " in the "), you will have to use a little trick... You need to : first, add or remove one or several characters in the renaming operation (for example : from " At The " to " at the ") (add one space) ; second, do the reverse thing (for example : " at the " to " at the ") (remove one space). Hope next update will fix that bug (maybe allowing a 2-way option). Summary : After searching and trying several other ReNaming programs, I found there does not seem to exist any better software than this for ReNaming on Mac OS.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Jan 10, 2015<p/>Well, CNET server seems to automatically remove double spaces, so my examples look wrong. But you get the idea... ;-)

Pros
I had to rename almost 3 million files and change their extensions and it worked absolutely wonderfully and I was amazed with its speed.
Cons
Can't think of anything. It's a perfect program.
Summary
Obviously a highly recommended program for file renaming. There can't be any better program than this for renaming.
