  Large library, Easy edition of parts, Easy creation of new library and parts, Easy layout of PCB and in general, a well thought product. Worth the trial and subsequent purchase.

  Does it all! Schematic capture, PCB layout package edit auto route and hand route. print or plot

  Cons

  Only 1 fault cannot print from each of the tools as you develope your product. Prints schematic and finished PCB layout, hole pattern and traces.

  Summary

  Wow $25 and you are in the schematic capture and PCB layout business. Very simple to use in an hr your are designing and in 4 you can complete your project.

  - too many separate programs to do simple things; <p>- settings in 1 program don't carry when you open another; <p>- does not handle non-circular pads very well; <p>- weak DRC; <p>- does not handle long filenames; <p>- some restrictions seem to be there for the programmer and not the user; <p>- component spacing restrictions for no apparent reason; <p>- very weak customer service. Not very friendly;

  I've been in hardware design field for 30 years, starting from hand <p>PCB routing. I had been using various PCB design software packages <p>until I tried Qcad. It has autorouter that amazed me. Having tried <p>Qcad, I didn't use any other software that don't finish routing 100%. <p>Qcad maybe don't have all options as 'big' software packages, but is <p>very simple and extremely efficient. Especially autorouter, that is <p>one of the most efficient that I've ever used. In my opinion, <p>performance/cost ratio is very good in comparison to others software <p>packages and I recommend Qcad to anyone needing cheap and very good <p>hardware design software.

• "A Best Buy" for small companies

  I have been a PCB designer for 25 years. I have used about 15 different software packages for board design. For the price this package cannot be out done. It's full schematic capture library, board layout, autoplacement and autorouting capabilities are nearly equivalent to packages costing several thousand more. The number of interfaces supported is incredible. I have used Cadence Allegro, which I consider the best package if you can spend $25,000 +. I have also used Mentor Graphics, Orcad, Tango, Pads, View Logic, SciCards, and more. If you have a limited budget, and need a full design station, this is the package for you.

  I have been using this package for years and completed many complex multi-layer and simple home designs. With its exceptional autorouter that can be easily compared with much more expensive tools like Spectra, this is one of the best packages for both professional and home use.
