WinMTR is a free, open-source network diagnostic tool for your personal computer, combining ping and traceroute functions in one graphical interface. It continuously probes your network, giving you an instant, sequential breakdown of latency and packet loss. By collecting data on sent and received packets, including best, average, worst, and last round-trip times, as well as standard deviation, this tool helps you pinpoint the exact location of any network issues. 

WinMTR supports both IPv4 and IPv6.This powerful resource for troubleshooting network connectivity also offers customization options like probe intervals and various export formats, allowing for detailed testing and reporting.

Detailed network probing

WinMTR integrates continuous probing with real-time updates. Unlike static traceroute commands, it repeatedly sends ICMP ECHO requests to every hop along the network path, giving you detailed data on packet behavior and network performance. It dynamically displays each hop with metrics such as hostname, packet loss, and latency, simplifying the identification of issues, including fluctuating ones like jitter or latency spikes, in complex network routes. 

It features a user-friendly graphical user interface that eliminates the need for command-line interactions. You will just enter a target host and start the test. Results update live in the window, showing how data packets behave across the network path. However, it's limited to diagnostic testing only.
