  Pros

  Detailed, good color, inoffensive sound

  Cons

  Terrible manual. Difficult to plan ahead because thing change unpredictably. The usual unrealistic economy where the player's whims create the economy. Although it says it is not militarily oriented, the whole economy exists only to support a military. Expansion restricted, only the military can expand borders even though the nearby land is dead empty. Logistics flags on roadways are quite ridiculous. Mines run out of resources much too quickly.

  Summary

  I've played this game a thousand times, just under different names. The developers are making the same mistakes they have been making for the last 25 years. Just once I'd like to see some imagination instead of the "Hollywood remake" system. Once you learn just how it is balanced-- do you need 100 lumberjacks to build a house or 1 lumberjack to build 100 houses-- you can play it as well as every other game of this genre. They are all the same. Perfectly loyal citizens until they are defeated, then they become the enemy's sheep. An economy never seen anywhere else in the known universe but in these strat games. Citizens that can't do a damn thing unless told to by you the emperor. The first few times you play a game of this type it is a hell of a lot of fun, but come on guys, after a quarter century it gets kinda old. For the love of god, please try something different! And I don't mean RPG or FPS, I mean revolutionize this genre. Restrict expansion by economic means not by squeezing the borders as tight as possible. Let the citizens decide what structures you need. You only influence their decisions by tendering out work you want done. Throw in some things we see in these modern days: lobby groups, protestors, terrorists, loyal opposition. The list of ways to make this genre better is endless, limited only by your imagination and coding skills. Certainly you don't need any special skills to do the same game over and over, changing only the name and the graphics. We just don't need the same ol' same ol' again.

• Simply Amazing Game, no stone unturned, jump right in!

  Pros

  First: It has everything to make you play for years. There are so many ways to build and run your kingdom that the possibilities are endless. Second: The characters you command actually run around and do their jobs. You watch them doing your biddings. Third: NO keyboard play involved. Curser driven! How nice. I LOVE this game!

  Cons

  You need to take the tutorial to learn how to build different sized buildings, roads, virtually everything you can think of. But even the tutorial is fun because you're seeing immediate action by your townspeople.

  Summary

  This game is everything the description says plus more!
